Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I booked the 'Day at Hen Corner' after seeing great Trip Advisor reviews and was not disappointed. Sara was so lovely, making us all feel welcome and covid-safe as she guided us through making bread and jam (including a pizza for lunch) then introduced us to the chickens and bees.
We took home our bread and jam (which was spectacular, even if I do say so myself) and a few other Hen Corner goodies we couldn't resist purchasing.

We have been fans of Hen Corner's products for some time, but recently we tried the chilli cheese loaf which was devoured that same Friday evening, it was so delicious.
Around Friday bakery pick up we have established a new delightful family tradition in these difficult times, so much so that we've started to look forward to it earlier in the week, and which reminds us to order in time!
The table is set (outside recently) with jars of olives and tapenades, butter dish, cheese board, salad bowl and glasses of wine/beer/pimms, eagerly awaiting Steve's return, on his bicycle, from Hen corner.
A glass of beer/wine is thrust into the collector's hand to reward his greatly appreciated efforts and our self isolating family of young adults suddenly appear from their various studies and labours in their rooms, to wolf down the delicious bakery products made by Sara's skilled hands.
I confess that we also order 'pudding/dessert' from Hen Corner too; our personal favourites being the almond twists and cinnamon swirls...often still warm and smelling so irresistible that sometimes they have to be eaten before the main course of bread and cheese etc.
Cannot recommend too highly. Thank you Sara and family.

Although this course ended up via Zoom it was worth it. I have been making bread for years yet Sara taught me new techniques which has improved my bread making significantly.
Sara is very knowledgeable and personable - lots of anecdotes - and the format worked incredibly well. As I made my bread along with Sara, She was able to review and guide me along the way.
I would highly recommend Hen Corner courses, be they bread making, hen rearing, bee-keeping etc.

Thanks for this lovely review.
We only started offering online/virtual courses this year, due to the COVID restrictions, and have been thrilled to see the positive responses.
Our small groups still ensure personal input and as we bake together we can watch each other’s technique and can continue to learn together.
As guests are baking along with me from their own kitchens, using their own equipment, they have the experience and confidence in that same environment to bake without me in the future.
Check out our website for new online courses coming soon!

Today is the third anniversary of my first loaf from Hen Corner, and I have been buying my bread from there ever since.
It is delicious – proper bread that you can chew – made from organic ingredients. Mostly I buy several Large White Split Tin loaves at a time and freeze them. They do not loose any of their flavour or texture when defrosted. They make excellent toast. There is plenty of choice of loaves, made with various flours, and cakes on their website (also eggs, honey, pickles, etc.). Their Hot-Cross Buns at Easter were delicious.
In these days of Covid 19 social isolation (quarantine), you place your order on the website before 5 pm on Thursday and your order will be bagged up and waiting for you at the door of their private house in Brentford between 5pm and 7pm on Friday. You used to be able to pay in advance by card or cash on collection. Nowadays payment is online only.
An email confirms your order and you receive a printed receipt when you collect your order.

We went as a charity group and were immediately made to feel so welcome!
Tea, coffee and homemade biscuits (honey of course) on arrival. Sara's passion for bee keeping and sustainable cooking is infectious and inspiring.
The day itself was fun and very entertaining with Sara's ability to tell a good story and her baking/cooking skills are not to be missed! :)
Whether you fancy learning about bee keeping or want an insight to keeping them, you will thoroughly enjoy this experience.
We will be back for your break baking course... Thank you so much for having us!

I had a wonderful 2 hours online with Sara learning more about bee keeping. It was great to spend time with someone who could explain things in a really easy to understand and entertaining way. Sara gave me exactly what I hoped for and helped me on my journey. I’m looking forward to attending her day long course next Spring. I would highly recommend this course to anyone thinking of taking this up. I learnt so much. Thank you Sara.

I was taught how to make feta, mozzarella and Camembert, learning how each stage is important and relevant. We also found time to make a honey and whey loaf and rosemary water biscuits, AND eat the most delicious lunch and Apple wine. (All homemade)
I left with all my 'makes' and instructions as to how to finish the cheeses off at home.
Sarah had in place a Covid safe environment to work in and supplied face masks and sanitisers.
I highly recommend this course and will definitely be going back again for another.

Enjoy your cheeses :)

Attended the introduction to breadmaking course and definitely worth the visit. If you want a homely, relaxed experience without compromising on knowledge and learning new skills then this is the course for you! Forget the corporate style courses, Sara hosts in her own home surrounded by a beautiful garden, bees and chickens. It was lovely to hear about her philosophy and move to sustainable living. I received personal attention and was walked through the process from start to finish interspersed with chats and refreshments. She teaches the Bertinet style of making bread rather than traditional kneading which gives a lighter bake. We had a lovely pizza for lunch made during the course and at the end of the day I left with several loaves of bread, buns and all my bakes. I definitely feel more confident about baking at home.

I’ve just attended the Introduction to Bread Making session and it was a wonderful day. We were able to ask lots of questions in a really relaxed format and made lots of delicious breads. Sara’s home setting is a slice of country life in an urban environment. I’m feeling more confident about having a go at home after Sara’s excellent tuition. I highly recommend booking one of her classes and I look forward to attending another one.

Sara came to visit our school and worked with approx. 70 children in 3 groups.
The sessions supported our current learning and the interactive activities really did bring what we had been doing in the classroom to life.
The children (and staff) learnt so much, it was delivered in a fun and engaging way and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The glass observation hive was fascinating to see and such a great opportunity for the children :-)
We wouldn't hesitate to arrange similar workshops again and would highly recommend Sara and Hen Corner.
