Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There are sweeping vistas to be seen if you can tear your eyes away from the outrageous and colourful décor of this pagoda and it's encircling terraces and arcades. It's brightly coloured with mosaic and tile work all over it as well as the obligatory huge seated Buddha and attendants. Lots of cats and dogs to chat with.

Spent a bit of time there as the views of the river and valley below were just spectacular. The giant sitting Buddha inside was also really beautiful!

This paya is at the top of Sagaing Hill and offers interesting sights both inside and outside of the paya. In addition to the large Buddha which is the focal point, there is a frog statue and a rabbit statue. I learned that the King who built the paya believed that the mountain looked like a frog, concluded that to be a good omen and built the paya as a result. The rabbit statue is believed to bring good luck if rubbed.

I found a series of paintings and the stories behind them to be quite interesting. The painting of the two headed horse stood for bribery. The painting next to it was a man (apparently a lawyer) taking bribes from two different men. These beliefs were based on the dreams of a King. This paya gave me a lot to think about as I viewed all of the paintings. However, my mind was able to relax when I saw the amazing views of Sagaing Hill from this paya!

Both stairways and motorway leads to this summit pagoda that was built in AD 1312 by Minister Pon Nya. " Soon U " means " First Alms-food " & " Pon Nya " is the donator name who constructed it. The panoramic view from this pagoda is very great & good spot for nice photos! Need to pay 300 Kyats for camera & 500 Kyats for Video camera at the entrance. Big bronze frog statue tells you the old official name of Sagaing hill & it's called " Nga Phar Taung " ( Frog Hill ) in long time ago.

Although the pagoda is not one of the best in Myanmar, it does sit on the Sagaing Hill and command a lovely view of the surrounding countryside - with its many white and gold pagodas - and the Irrawaddy River. It does not have a lot of foreign tourists, but seems to have many local tourists visiting. It is certainly well worth the effort of going to the pagoda if you are in Sagaing.

This is one of the main tourist attractions in Sagaing. There is a large statue of Buddha and this is a place for worship for Buddhists.

As it is located on top of a hill, there are scenic views to enjoy as well.

It’s the view that matters there, and it’s amazing. You can see everything from that hill, the pagodas below and the hilly, green landscape. I strongly recommend walking downhill from there - I did and by accident found myself in a monastery, and then walking a picturesque path to Irrawaddy river.
