Beautiful mosque that still holds the essence of the past. Those who enjoy visiting historical sites will appreciate this place. Women should dress modestly and bring a headscarf along or you won't be able to enter. Right by the entrance theres a little market selling all sorts of Turkish trinkets. The mosque was built in 1579. It was up until recently the hub of Tarsus. One of the minarets was changed into a clock tower in 1895.

A great mosque reminiscent of the Ottoman regime with the typical Ottoman Architecture and the fascinating and amazing Calligraphy which was an unforgettable experience. Dr.Javed Rasheed

I think this is the most beautiful mosque in Tarsus. It was built in 16th century. Also the around of this mosque is very beautiful with a 16th century built covered bazaar, a hammam and old turkish style coffee and tea houses. You can see real local life style of Tarsus here.
