About
In the summer months and of course with nice spring and autumn weather our ‘waterside’ terrace is open every weekend. (It is the only terrace right on the Meije). From the road / parking the terrace is not visible, but when you walk round the barn… . And, Bed and Breakfast Above our gallery is a space that we rent as a Bed and Breakfast. The entire space is designed as a complete apartment (it may also be rented as a holiday home). It includes a kitchen, separate bedroom, bathroom, own heating with radiators in all rooms and a private entrance with stairs. From this space, you have beautiful views over the river Meije and the nature of the Nieuwkoop lakes. The apartment has a TV and rental includes Free WiFi and an afternoon, morning or evening free use of our 2 person canoe. Bed & Breakfast ‘De Blauwe Meije’ is on diverse cycle, walking paths.

Nice location and nice Apple pie
Jul 2017 • Friends
Nice Cafe excellent location in nice grounds. Was there as part of a group that I think was expected. The apple pie was excellent my cup of tea never arrived but wasnt too concerned about it. Woman in charge seemed to have learned her customer skills from basil faulty but this may have been due to trying to manage our group of 20 cyclists as well as her ordinary customers would possibly give second chance if passing by on my own.

Family run B and B
Jul 2017 • Family
We stayed here for one night while cycle touring in Holland. It is a set up that may appeal to some but we wouldn't chose to stay here again.

This is a family run B and B with an attached roadside cafe with an arty angle to it. The family are friendly enough, helped by a young Russian girl who works for the family.

Be aware that the accommodation is up extremely steep steps which we found difficult with our bike stuff and the children. The windows open from the first floor height and altho there are metal barriers that can be placed in front of the gaps they are far from secure and I would say this place is therefore not ideal for young children.

We paid the highest price for this place on our entire 10 night trip which included at 4 star hotels in the Hague and Delft!! The value for money is very poor, breakfast is basic and the accommodation has alot to be desired. We did not all use the bathroom despite really wanting a shower after all our cycling as it was really very rough and there was no soap provided. My daughter's bed sheet was not clean.

I am afraid I cannot recommend this place.

Just the sort of quirky place we like. 5*

We were exploring the area by car and came across this place. We don't speak Dutch but recognise "apple tart" in any language on the board outside. It ticked all boxes. Tea, tart, very friendly owners, comfortable interior, lovely outside seating and a great location.

Thank you for your kind words, and your visit to our tea garden. We are proud that our apple pie itself is found internationally ;-) until the next time. Rebecca & Juerd

Nice place ...
Jul 2016 • Friends
After a mid day on the water with two wherries (rowing boats) we decided to have a cup of coffee and apple pie. Everything was home made and fresh. Nice sculptures and a garden. A good relaxing place and friendly people.

Apple Pie and Fun Art
Apr 2015 • Friends
Visited on a sunny day and enjoyed great coffee and delicious apple pie which we consumed while watching artists over the canal painting in the sunshine. Later we went closer to look at their work and walk around the sculpture garden full of quirky and interesting pieces set against green open countryside. An excellent stop off when touring the area.
