I love visiting this place and have gone for years. However, it has gone from watching in the car park to a large basic visitor center. It now seems to be more for tourists than for the birds themselves. I remember being told many years...More

An awesome sight at feeding time Over 100 Red Kites descended at the 2pm feeding time. They called to each other and swooped about in anticipation of being fed and when the person arrived with the food they swooped down just skimming the ground to...More

Visited last week and viewed the incredible spectacle of the Red Kites being fed. This is predominately an outdoor experience but you can watch from inside if you want. But dress for the weather. £5 per person, get there early and claim your seats. Tea...More

Wonderful in that, unknown to us we had stumbled across a place where they specialise in Viewing the Kites that inhabit and perform in Galloway.... The Kites are fed at regular intervals, and from the wide verandah you are no further away from seeing these...More

This was an amazing experience. There was around 150 Red Kites come feeding time. The viewing area was fantastic (close and comfortable). There was facilities for Tea/Coffee/Cake/Sandwiches/Souvenirs etc. Very easy to get great photos. The RSPB staff member on site was very helpful and informative....More

For anybody with an interest in wildlife this is an amazing experience, we were lucky that the conditions were perfect and over 100 birds were present. There is clearly a lot of hard work and dedication gone into attracting and maintaining the kites presence, the...More

Wonderful to see so many kites in one place. Great value. Hard to believe a couple of recent tight reviewers. What do they expect for a £5 entrance fee? How do they expect the farm to feed the birds and maintain the site? A really...More

It is £5 per adult and free for children, if you are happy to pay this for guaranteed red kite sighting then fair enough but it's basically a farmhouse with a poor excuse of a cafe raking it in from tourists.

Huge numbers of red kite at feeding time (which lasts about ten minutes). For £5 you get to sit on rickety, Moss-encrusted benches with no protection from the elements and no viewing aids such as binoculars. The “centre” has practically no background material of any...More
