Everyone should view an Aurora at least once-it is the most magical, ethereal experience. It will take your breathe away. Add this to your bucket list! The way to truly appreciate the Aurora and Swedish Lapland is with Peter Rosen! He is a tour guide par excellence. Peter goes above and beyond to ensure a trip that exceeds expectations. Peter's tours are small-there were only seven participants in our 6 day tour. He pays attention to detail and takes into account the needs and wishes of all. On our 6 day tour, the weather was snowy and cloudy most days and nights. Our day activities included dog sledding, landscape photography, driving a reindeer sled, learning about the Sami culture, visiting the incredible Ice Hotel and more. At night, Peter would be constantly checking the Aurora forecast and was willing to change plans so we would see an Aurora. And we did on our last night, Peter drove from Abisko Sweden to Narvik, Norway. There over the Rombakk fjord we saw a truly spectacular dancing Aurora!! What a way to end this tour!
I can also not say enough about Peter himself. There was a situation that occurred during this incredible trip, Peter was understanding and calming. He is not only a terrific tour guide but a terrific guy!!

Peter was a gun from even BEFORE we started our trip. He answered all our questions so thoroughly, even helping us plan parts of our trip which didn't involve him. We spent 6 days together on a private tour with the family. Peter was so personable and patient. He was very flexible and passionate about what he does - and it definitely showed! We were generously provided with professional cameras and lots of cool lenses to use on our daily activities. Even if there wasn't an aurora to chase that night, there was always something else to do. My highlight would have been the private dog-sledding tours that we did during the day and again at night. So unique and priceless! Having Peter lead us around these 6 days, you could really see the rapport and support he had from the local community and businesses - they all knew who he was and would treat us well because of him! Peter was always patient in explaining how to use the camera, and also the theories behind the auroras. So knowledgeable! I have learned so much and done so many things that I would never have done if it weren't for this tour! Unforgettable and priceless experience. Thank you Peter!!

We had a fantastic photoadenture trip with very good photo workshop in Abisko. Niklas was the most excellent tour guide with deep knowledge of the area as well as of the art of teaching photography in a brilliant way. He worked hard to be sure that we were in the best place weather permitting for us to see the lights. I have been doing some photography prior to this trip but learnt a lot of new things. The food was absolutely excellent and it was nice and comfortable rooms. Their attention to us before, during and after the trip has been outstanding.

We were a family of (6), my wife and our two adult sons with their wives. We came from Australia for a week with Peter. I think I still have a smile on my face after our return and the experiences and images are still swirling around my in my head.
We got to see and photograph the Aurora from the 1st night and a number of nights afterwards. Unforgettable to see when it is virtually over your head. Just magical and then some!!! We used amazing professional quality Canon photographic equipment all provided by Peter. On the moose hunt we each used huge telescopic lenses. I was more than astounded by the level of equipment entrusted to us.
Peter is incredible. He is constantly monitoring the conditions and is intentional on placing us in the best locations. He is also just the most affable, personable and accommodating of hosts apart from being one of the most organised and professional. Peter is on top of his game as a photographer but also in being connected to the technology to help maximise the chances of catching the aurora. We found out that Peter was once a climate scientist before starting on his passion with the guiding business. So the PhD helps!!
Each day was never short of a new experience for us. Thru Peter’s network we experienced the local indigenous Sami culture and drove our own reindeer sled, went on a day and a night dog sled aurora hunt, said hello to a person who went for a swim through a hole dug into the frozen lake!!!! We met and spoke to so many local people connected with Peter.
One night we also went to Peter’s cabin in Abisko on his snowmobile to learn about how to edit photographs. We ended up that night going up onto his roof as the aurora happened to pop up again.
Even before we had the pleasure of actually meeting Peter my wife was impressed with his communication and attention to detail. He is not only the best guide but a wonderful chap. He even informed us of the Covid-19 situation and gave us the option of continuing.
I can’t recommend Peter enough. If you want the best Northern Lights experience then you can’t go past Peter. We felt that on the trip we were always in the safe, capable and knowledgable hands of a friend.
This trip is too good to do only once!!!

He was our snow angel in disguise! :P
We spontaneously planned this tour with him and he made sure we went back to the best moments. It was my first experience with the northern lights and I can't think of a better guide other than Peter. He taught us the best photography practices for capturing the aurora and made sure we practice it and click some good pictures. He was patient with us and made us feel very comfortable and welcome. I would highly recommend him as a guide to anyone who even isn't a beginner in photography!

We had an amazing time with Peter who is such a sincere and modest person. Chasing the aurora can be challenging, but finding the best spots for a beautiful composition is what makes this tour special and unique. Be aware that this is a photography oriented tour. Our goal was to learn a bit more about shooting at night and Peter, who is a knowledgeable photographer, took every bit of time to show us some tips & tricks in post processing. Apart from that Peter went out of his way to accommodate all of his guests wishes, as there were some with a lesser interest in photography and more for massages and spa's.
Even then Peter managed to organise a full packed itinerary and keep everyone happy.
Biggest highlight for us was being out with the dogs all morning and even a full evening. Some of our best photos were with the sled dogs in the composition.
Things feel more authentic and less touristy when your enjoying hot tea in a tipi with a fireplace.
We left with great experiences and new friends and would recommend this tour to our family and friends.
Thanks again Peter!

I just got back from this amazing 8-day Swedish Lapland Photography excursion. What a wonderful trip. Full of a variety of activities which all had many opportunities to stop and frame our best possible photo shots. Peter and David were excellent coaches, showing skill and patience so that each of us could learn and grow our photography skills. I've come home with a great portfolio and even greater memories. Don't hesitate to sigh up - you will love every minute

Peter was a wonderful guide: knowledgeable, patient, flexible, creative and friendly are some of the adjectives that come to mind. With a background in science and photography, he has a wealth of experience and knowledge, both basic and esoteric, such that he is able to explain and expound upon the things we saw and experienced in a way that people with all levels of knowledge and sophistication can understand and learn.
We saw the Aurora Borealis from several perspectives and came to well understand the variables that influence what the eye and the camera see. We saw many moose, some reindeer, ptarmigan, and even spotted a red fox.
Beyond the Aurora, the snowmobiling and dogsledding were highlights (thanks Irina at Outback Abisko and Leah at Kiruna Dogsled!). We enjoyed a visit to the IceHotel where Peter explained the engineering and artistry that go into constructing the hotel every year. During a day's excursion to Norway to take in some of the fjords, we learned about the Sami people, their culture and history.
We felt well cared-for at every step and would highly recommend Peter/LapplandMedia to anyone considering a visit to that part of the world.

My wife, Sue and I just finished a wonderful winter photography tour of Lapland led by Peter Rosen and David Evans. Both Peter and David were generous in sharing their extensive knowledge, helping us improve our photgraphy and get better shots. While there is a focus on the aurara (which did not dissapoint), the winter landscapes and soft skies are simply stunning. They also provided some extra lenses (high quality) to help better capture photos in lower light and tripods, so no need to drag one with you from home. Being a local meant that Peter knew the area extremely well and where go to see stunning views. Experiencing reindeer and dog sledding was a little different but moving through the trees and snow with either the dogs or the reideer was very enjoyable and also provided the opportunity to learn a little of the local Sami culture. The outer clothes provided to us did the job extremely well and given that temps dropped to -30 C good clothes are a must. Great location, great teachers, good food and accommodation and great fellow travellers. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone looking for a photographic tour experience that can and does provide that WOW factor. It certainly did not disappoint and we loved the experience.

The New Year’s Photo-Adventure Tour is fantastic. If you have an opportunity to go on a tour with Peter, don’t hesitate and go. The experience in the Swedish Lapland with Peter exceeded our expectations. Not only you will get to see the beautiful and scenic landscape up North but you will also learn a lot about photography and Aurora Borealis. If you don’t know much about photography don’t worry Peter will teach you. He is very patient and is always happy to answer any questions you may possibly have. His passion for photography/nature is contagious. It was fun trying to photograph different objects such as Landscape, Aurora Borealis, Milky Way, Moose, and even Polar Stratospheric Clouds. We all needed different lenses to photograph different objects. This was no problem for Peter,. The van was packed with all the needed equipment (Various lenses, cameras, tripods, and even spare batteries). Peter works a lot “behind the scenes” to make sure everything on the tour is perfect. His dedication to everybody’s happiness is admirable.
We also had a great time dogsledding on the frozen lake, and through the forests. The dogs are friendly and ready to snuggle with you when they rest. But they are the happiest when pulling the sled. The smile on their faces is priceless.
The cabins at the Aurora Camp are very cozy & the staff is friendly. The camp is located on the lake and is quite remote. The whole area is peaceful and tranquil. We absolutely loved it there!
This tour is a once in a life time experience! Highly recommended.
