Just a wall with some building inside. It took us 15 mins to go around. Nice views from the top tower. Could be interesing if they'd had some programs

It is a nice walk, just around Castro Marim Sol. The village is for tourists in Campers...you see them on a special parking space..loading their Campers with beer, white wine..and food..especially in wintertime. Castro Marim is a friendly village.

We enjoyed our visit to this castle, for 1.20 euros you don't expect much but it has great views, still enough of the castle remains for you to get the idea of what it would have been like way back, signs in English, the torture...More

Walk up the cobbled street to see this castle. Views all around over to Spain. Gory exhibition on showing torture instruments, still having nightmares about them. Very basic castle but definitely worth a visit. Lovely town. 1.20 euros.

My wife went into the castle but it was not accessible to me 9n my small wheeled electric mobility scooter. A large wheeled wheelchair might rare better. Worth a try though. The town itself is very nice though.

We spent roughly an hour looking around the seemingly abandoned castle. The entry fee is reasonable at only €1.50, but with very little to do other than taking in the views from the castle keep, it is fair. Of all the castles I have visited...More

This castle, which played such an important role in the defense of Portugal from a possible invasion from Spain, has been sadly left in a state of abandonment. There is a good view of the white houses of the town below but inside the walls...More

Great views fom the castle walls, worth the entrance fee alone. We didn't know the medieval festival was on and arrived a few days too late, but the place itself was nice enough to walk round, as was the sleepy village it sits in. Takes...More

Visited on a Sunday morning as something a bit different to do. Have been before and were just as delighted as previously. It's best to park in the free car park in the town centre then follow the signs to the castle. IT IS a...More
