Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A really nice place. We visited as part of a tour out from Vilamoura so it was an unexpected treat for us. Not sure if we would make a special trip as a hour or so maximum is all that is needed to look round.

As mentioned in other reviews, the whole area has been suffering from a drought during 2022 - the water situation is slowly rectifying but if there has been a run of dry months it may not be quite the spectacle expected.

There is a good cafe and plenty of seating so a nice place to relax.

This was a lovely, peaceful place by the river. Most there were families who were there for the full day, with their own food and drink. All the kids in the river were having great fun. Plenty of picnic benches and places to sunbathe and also plenty of shade. One small cafe serving drinks, toasties, hotdogs and ice creams was open but the main restaurant was not (not sure if permanently closed).
We got an Uber there from Albufeira (£23.00) but had to get a taxi back (£50).
We walked into the centre but only one restaurant was open - not sure if that was because it was a Monday.

Nice little river we were taken to on the jeep safari after lunch in Alte town.

Not too many people for a Saturday, but decided not to go swimming as we had the rest of the safari to complete and not too much time.

Nice bar between two of the bridges with friendly staff.

Very do friendly place and lots of stray cats, although they looked well-fed

Sadly the water has dried up and there is little to see except some rather green water caught behind a small dam. Locals are swimming but it looks a bit ikky! Friendly cafe with ice-cream and drinks though and it is probably better in the rainy season

A nice spot in our lovely town in an amazing area. Don’t plan on spending a lot of time here, but it’s good for a meditation, contemplation, or a little picnic.

We arrived late after dinner when it was cooler and spotted large fish and a turtle. Kids loved trying to catch the fish.

Stumbled on the fonte walking around the town. On a hot day the trees gave shade and with a bar for drinks a nice and unexpected experience. People were swimming in the water or having picnics and enjoying themselves. Well worth a visit

I think the title says it all really. This short bit of rather dirty looking water seems to attract a fair number of tourists to this better quality looking village in the hills above the tourist resorts. Not actually much there bar a few cafes but it’s not an unpleasant walk from the car park to the canal. Not really much to look at or experience but a pleasant hours worth of wandering and a few pleasant cafes to visit. Don’t expect to be blown away with it, you won’t be.

Nice place as a destination for a drive. Kisok selling drinks and ice cream. Natural spring within man made pool.
