This is a fairly unique piece of Victorian ingenuity, a funicular powered by water, and lovingly restored against the backdrop of this delightful seaside town. Worth a visit, and a pound, if only to ride the tramway's short journey.

For only one poind it brings you up or down to beach. Water being pumped to tanks inside the upper trolley draws the lower trolley up the hill. Only 2 other systems like that on rest of the world

Why not? Its a great way to get to the top/bottom. It's lovely. It is not expensive and by going on it, you will be helping to make sure future generations get to try it.

Nice trip into the past for a couple of quid, well maintained historic fenicular railway (cliff railway). Worth a trip of you are here, not bad value for a family ticket.

Thank Dave J
