Enjoyed a trip on the Lavaux Express with my husband and 9 month old son. Of course my son fell asleep from the rocking straight away although he enjoyed the ride on the way back. Views were absolutely stunning, lots of vineyards! Can imagine the locals got a bit sick of a long train coming through their windy streets though.... More

Took the Lavaux Express (which is a tractor dressed as a train pulling cars on the roadway through the vineyards) through the wine country above Lake Geneva and the small town of Lavaux, Switzerland. The vineyards are built on the steep hillsides and the train is a wonderful way to see the countryside. The tour lasts about 60 minutes and... More

I have to concur with several other reviewers when they say the views were lovely but the commentary somewhat lacking. We were there on the "shoulder" season prior to the start of summer season and therefore the only ones on the train. It was romantic and quiet - and a bit rainy that day. We signed up for the wine... The view was amazing, but the driver did not give us any information about how the wine is made. It is only a ride in train through the vineyards. After the ride we went into a small cave to drink some wine ( it was included). The owner of the place did not present the wine that we were tasting,... More

I took the train solo and it was definitely worth it. The views were absolutely breathtaking. I was hoping to stop at more than one cellar, but the one we did stop at was amazing. The conductor was great and let me get off in the little town I was staying in, instead of riding back to Lutry. It was... More

Absolutely loved this experience! Booked it at the last minute, and tagged it on to our visit to Lausanne from Geneva. We took the train from Lausanne to Lutry, a 5 minute journey, Lutry is the second stop. From there it's a 10 minute walk to the boat pier - turn left out of the station, then right, follow the... We did the one hour trip from Cully. The starting point is a 5 minute walk from Cully railway station - or you could go to Cully by boat. The carriages are small and the seats are planks of wood. Each carriage could have 6 adults in it - we found it cramped with just four. The carriages are probably... More

Excellent way to see the local area and to sample the local wine! We thoroughly enjoyed the ride and got some great views from the top down over the lake.

We took the Lavaux Express from Lutry. It was a little train very friendly and ideal to go with all the members of the family, including our dog. The view was stunning. At the top, the train stopped and we were offered a glass of wine. We took very nice pictures of the lake.

We had a Lavaux Express tour starting in Cully by the Hotel Au Major Davel and were driven through many vineyards to Riex, Epesses and Dézaley. Our group enjoyed this excursion especially now since in some vineyards people were collecting grapes.
