Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Spent an enjoyable Hour and a half at their running day this morning. A few exhibits including 2 ex island line tube stock units to see and a small shop.

The railway is very much a work in progress but they have good ambitions and, like all such ventures, it will take time to develop.

Children will enjoy the shortish train ride and there is a nice nature area as well.

Looking forward to going back again to see how they getting in

I visited this site in 1984 when the colliery was still operating. I wanted to visit again to see how the new railway was developing, so when an open day on 26 June 2021 was announced, I booked for it online. The Pacer diesel unit that was operating provided an interesting ride within the area of the old colliery, where a few remains could still be seen. There were also a number of other exhibits and displays on site. These attractions and the friendly attitude of the staff made for an enjoyable morning. I look forward to returning as the project progresses and the length of the line increases..

Sad to say that this is not really worth a visit. I pass the location often and it is hardly ever open to visitors. It has no worthwhile locos (a diesel shutter only) and very little rolling stock, all in very poor condition, none of which ever seem to move. It has a tiny run of track which is never used. Very limited facilities and not welcoming. It is an operation sustained for the benefit of just a few members it seems, and is in desperate need of substantial funding and professional management.

Sorry Peter, but your review is a very unfair and cutting assessment of a charity venture that was unable to operate due to a global pandemic! Far from being sustained for the benefit of a few members as you suggest, we have hosted a number of successful public events and garnered support from all around the United Kingdom. I have to presume that from your comments that you have not visited us on an open day. Until you have then its probably best not to leave a review about a visit. Not only is it misleading but it's also not what trip advisor is actually for. You only need to make a quick search on YouTube for videos of our events to see how well received they are. Perhaps it is not your cup of tea, fair enough, but there is no need to be so disrespectful and damning to the dedicated volunteers. We will be re-opening in 2021 and will continue to prove ourselves as a worthwhile and growing tourist attraction for Carmarthenshire to be proud of. Thank you

Took an autumn ride through the cycleway and walkway adjoining the railway. The volunteers have done so much work to make this a great place to visit and a small railway line remains with occasional working days where you can see it in action. The best aspect of the route is the gentle gradient in beautiful scenery and with amazing views.
