I hired this for my partners 30th birthday as he is obsessed with land rovers! I was a bit nervous about the tent part but needn’t have been, it was so easy to set up and was such a cosy space for us in the evening if the Scottish weather wasn’t being too kind! We both absolutely loved it, much preferred it over our camper van experiences in the past and will definitely be looking to book again. It also helped that everything on the kit list was such good quality and easy to use. Highly recommend :)

We have just returned from four nights driving part of the NC500 in a highlanddefender - what a great experience! We are a family of four (children 12 and 9) and we found the space in the rooftent to be comfortable, cosy and despite the wind we felt quite safe. It was straight forward to put up and down and the kit provided suited our needs.
The awning is a recommendation, but we took this down at night because of the wind.
My husband thoroughly enjoyed driving the 110 and the children loved being higher up in the back.
We pitched next to the ocean and the vehicle undoubtedly looks very cool when set up and has created memories for us all and a desire to do more rooftop camping!

We´ve just returned from a fantastic week touring up the North West coast in a Highland Defender 110 and iKamper. It was great fun. Jamie collected us from Aviemore station and took us the their hire location (a few minutes away) and introduced us to our defender and the camping kit. We then headed off to Skye and the start of our 6 day tour (ending up in Lochinver). The defender was great, but the big surprise was the ikamper tent. We were two adults and a 9 year old boy and we had loads of space in the tent (Id say plenty space for 2 adults and 2 young children). The memory foam mattress was surprisingly comfortable and I had 5 great nights sleep (something I was a bit worried about). The first night on Skype delivered storm force winds and heavy rain - and we were camped 10 meters from a west coast beach - so the weather just came in from the Atlantic and hit our camp - but the ikamper stood up to it no problem - no leaks. We had a superb 6 days and we were sorry to hand it back. I asked my wife what she would like to do on our next holiday and she said "same again". My son, of course, loved the whole experience and so we look forwards to another trip next year. Highland Defenders were extremely helpful throughout the hire process (especially in light of Covid challenges), and so I can thoroughly recommend renting a defender adventure through Highland Defenders.

My wife and I have just returned from a 7 day trip around the NC500 on the B roads. This was a an exceptional holiday, not just the scenery but also the quality of service from booking to handing back the vehicle. The 4x4's are maintained really well and all the camping gear is in excellent condition. We couldn't fault any part of the trip and are looking forward to booking in the near future. Thank you

Thanks James and team for the wonderful time we had hiring the Defender 90. We had 8 nights exploring and wild camping our way along the NC500 route and the Isle of Skye. A great, fun vehicle that turned heads everywhere we went - and the rooftop tent was just brilliant - so easy to set up, took about 2 minutes. Everything we needed was included and the HD team were a pleasure to deal with. Looking forward to booking with them again! Chloe & Tim

Lovely people, completely flexible and just the perfect addition to our trip to the Highlands. James and Rebecca could not do enough to help and the Defender was just the perfect vehicle to get us around hassle free.

What an amazing trip! We spent 5 days travelling around some of the North Coast 500 route in one of the Highland Defenders with the IKamper tent on the roof... I cannot say a bad word about the vehicle, the customer service and especially the ease of putting up the tent.
We met one of the friendly team and were quickly shown around the defender, the fully kitted out camping accessories (which was everything we needed and more) and how to erect and stow the tent which was far easier than expected.
I would highly recommend Highland Defenders to anyone wanting to get out and explore. The tent itself was robust, clean and comfortable. Me, being an avid tent camper, I am used to roughing it but this was the Ritz equivalent.
Thanks again for an amazing experience, and I will be recommending Highland Defenders to everyone.

My husband and I recently hired a Defender with a roof tent from Highland Defenders for our honeymoon and can not stop talking about how much fun we had. It was such an amazing experience, not in the least because the Scottish Highlands are a beautiful and fantastic place to visit on their own! My husband had an absolute riot driving the Defender around on the windy Highland roads and didn’t want to give it up after our five days!
The roof tent was a breeze to set up and Highland Defenders provides you with absolutely everything you need to have a successful trip. They are definitely a full-service business that I will recommend to anyone. I would do this again in a heartbeat and we might have to look into getting our own set up for home!!

We haven't rented from these guys and i highly recommend both for seasoned and new to camping enthusiasts. The land rover was superb to drive perfect vehicle very clean and in perfect condition. We have the roof tent and a ground tent both tents were is pristine condition and all the camping gear felt like new the way they are kept.
The staff is one of the best staff people i have ever encountered they are nice and very helpful with every issue we had.
Highly recommend if there is the option of 10 instead of 5 stars i would choose that.

I had the privilege to hire one of these Land Rovers during a week of beautiful weather with my girlfriend and we both agree it’s one of the best trips we have ever done! The Highlands are stunning and we will deffo be coming back for many years to come and Highland Defenders will be our only way to travel!
