- lacey h4 contributionsBest museum by far!Went as a child and had good memories. Came back up to the north this summer and took my partner and brother who also enjoys history and museums and my 4 year old daughter. Wow they have upgraded it from the last I went just as you couldn’t think it couldn’t get any better. Very interactive that my child didn’t get bored once! That saying something for her and museums. So much to do and see. The customer service was amazing the girls were so friendly and great with my daughter and reminded me what I missed about the north. Definitely looking forward to coming back. Iv been to many museums but this one is my personal favourite.Visited September 2022Travelled with familyWritten 8 December 2022
- missacorah339 contributionsFull to the brim with info!Such an incredible place and full to the brim with interesting pieces. You could actually spend hours here wandering through the various huts and their artefacts. In addition I’d like to see a little hut open for the smaller visitors with some hands on learning in keeping with the theme. Very good though!Visited March 2023Written 2 April 2023
- MrJTH2321 contributionsA great place revisit history of today whilst also learning something new!Eden camp is a place of historical value! From being a ww2 pow camp it fully embraces the culture of keeping history preserved and cherished! All the huts are filled so much information and pieces of history in all aspects. The layout of the camp/huts make it easy to navigate your way around the place and make it more enjoyable. It caters for all ages from young to old so everyone can learn more about the conflicts this world has faced. There is a slight downside and that is the cafe and gift shop. My opinions for the cafe on site is that the interior is fantastic and fresh whilst also a clean environment to be in. However the downside is that i feel that the food choices available that let this place slightly down! More fresh options need to offered on the menu! Use the history of WW2 and make a menu inspired by that. I didn't personally feel that the gift shop was also catered for everybody. It seemed most of the stuff available to purchase was for the ages of 12 and under! Maybe in the future Eden camp could use ideas from other war museums to help cater for older people. Overall its a great experience and you can spend all day here learning about the conflicts we have faced throughout recent times. Eden camp is worth every penny! Specially if it continues to preserve the history of today. I also love the touch of the medal room next to the cafe though and wish for that to be kept!Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 April 2023
- EmmaSouthport, United Kingdom4 contributionsWorth a Visit!Easy online booking system. Met by a helpful, pleasant lady at the entrance booths who was patient and polite. The site was clean and toilets immaculate. The layout was good and the playground was excellent for kids. We had a lovely day, thanks!Visited April 2023Written 5 April 2023
- EK1 contributionFantastic and informative siteWhat a fantastic place. Huge, immaculate and full of activities and information for all ages. If I lived closer I would get the annual ticket pass. Only took a star off because the cafe, though also huge and immaculate and staffed with pleasant people, is grossly overpriced for very, very basic fare. I would absolutely come again with others to enjoy it, but I would bring a packed lunch to eat on the numerous picnic benches or the mess halls provided for packed lunches. I actually feel bad taking a star off but truly we felt the food was an absolute let down for the price expected. The coffee was weak, the portions were small and the chips looked like overcooked scraps. Forgivable at a cheap cafe, but this wasn’t. The site itself is absolutely stunning and worth visiting any day in any weather.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 7 April 2023
- AK 59Kazan, Russia138 contributionsA great place to educate and rememberA very well presented and maintained attraction. Lucky enough to visit when they had ‘re-enactors’ on site, which added to the overall impact of the theme. A lot of varied installations, fixed displays and military hardware on show, which needs a lot of time to truly take in.Visited April 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 13 April 2023
- geordielass96Durham, United Kingdom87 contributionsEducational visitAs others have stated we visited as my daughter has been learning about the war at school and what a treat it was. We both found it very informative and interesting and the staff were all very approachable and full of information. The displays in the hut were excellent and I’m sure gave a very good impression of what war times were like. The machinery and vehicles there were amazing to see. We had a snack in the cafe which was nice and reasonably priced. All in all a brilliant day out. Bear in mind there is no heating in the huts so be prepared; you may need to wrap up warm.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 13 April 2023
- Stephen C3 contributionsAn excellent venue to visitWe had an excellent day at this amazing museum. The staff are very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. We had lunch in the Winstan’s Bunker cafe, although very busy the staff managed to keep the tables clear, clean and tidy. The exhibition rooms and kept clean and tidy as is the whole site. We would thoroughly recommend a visit to this educational museum.Visited April 2023Written 14 April 2023
- AnneMarie R1 contributionA very informative museumIt was my first visit here, but it was definitely not my last!! It's a fantastic but poignant place. Taking you through the history of WW2 and the lead up, to. The process of going through the buildings means you are all going in one direction, which helps a build up of people in one place. It was informative and emotional. The guide says to allow 3 - 4 hours, but I would definitely allow more time. I was there for 4.5 hours and still didn't see everything. This is a must-see for those who love military history and I will be going backVisited May 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 31 May 2023
- mr_bukarooLeicester, United Kingdom145 contributionsGreat day out with the dogsCompletely dog friendly place with them allowed everywhere on site including huts, cafe and gift shop. Spent approx 4hrs here on a very rainy day. Prebooked online, as it cost £13 rather than pay £15 on arrival. Easy to find and a large car park available. The site is set out really well with all huts numbered with a one way system within them to help the flow of people, just follow your free map to help guide you. Underfoot is really good, so no issues walking around and between the huts there are military vehicles and wartime exhibits such as air raid shelters etc to physically go in. There is lots of info in the huts and they are really well laid out. Some huts have smells, others audio and flashing lights (pre warned before you enter) which was a nice touch and a welcome change to lots of reading. Just beware when taking dogs in if they are easily scared, ours were fine, other thing to mention about the huts is they can be narrow in places, so make sure your dog is fine with this. Plenty of info about WWII but also other wars and conflicts available and if I’m honest, I could have spent all day here easily. Fair few school groups here when we went and there is plenty of activities to entertain them (and some big kids too!, see pictures) great day out and glad I came, well worth the money and something you can do on a rainy or sunny day.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 20 June 2023

Came across the camp on route to the coast and thought we’d stop in. Really great use of the old camp and really interesting exhibits across a range of WW2 campaigns and aspects. Pricy to get in but it must cost a lot to run. Dog friendly.

Amazing please we enjoyed it so much I didn’t really know what to expect but it was really good and so informative.
The only issue and I have not taken a star off as it is not Eden camps fault was a very unruly school trip. Most of the school kids there were fine but one trip had the teachers basically ignoring the kids. I had to tell these kids to stop touching things, one kid barged my son out the way when he was looking at the human torpedo exhibit and unfortunately they turned up when we were sat the remembrance chapel and one of the started making what he though was funny gestures and the teacher just laughed at him. The kids then started making farting noises.
I understand kids being loud but teachers should make sure they are not touching things and show the proper respect in certain places. I say this as a teacher

This was a return visit for our family and we were impressed with the new additions. The information was presented really well and the whole family engaged. Cafe was warm and spacious which was welcome on a wet day. Attraction is dog friendly too which is really helpful. Would have been five star review if not for swarms of unruly school children. Difficult to read information when surrounded by crowds of noisy kids. Understand and support need to take children there and to educate them about this period of history, but numbers should be restricted for sake of other visitors.

I had somewhat limited expectations but it was actually brilliant. We spent four hours here and I could go back again tomorrow. We all know a lot of the facts about WW2 but the real life personal stories bring it all to life.

It’s been over 20 years since we were last here, and I was looking forward to seeing how much it had changed . I didn’t expect that it had changed so much for the better. Every hut tells its own story of a part of WW2, and it tells it very well. It even goes so far as the sounds and the smells of the time . It’s just an amazing place to visit, and it tells a story that needs to be told, and one of a time that seems we haven’t learned from. You need to visit this pls s as soon as you can.

Absolutely stunning exhibition portraying from the start of a p.o.w camp to wars thru the ages . Excellent examples of years gone bye and trials and tribulations people had to go thru in Britain during the bombings also the endurance men on the front line during the wars were against
So many wars portrayed at eden camp especially the one people didnt know much about .Korea .
Japanese didnt take the red cross seriously we cam see and treated POWs absolutely horrendously
A 5 ☆☆☆☆☆ site and worth every penny paid to go around site ..a good 2 to 3 hours of history

Maybe we were unlucky but the place was overrun with (very loud) school parties. Clearly the days of being well behaved in school trips are long gone… A pity as quite an interesting museum. I would go at a weekend or school holiday if possible.

The nicest bit of Yorkshire
Yes we do allow well behaved and friendly dogs on short leads into the museum. They are allowed in all our exhibition huts and we also have a specially designated area in our Café (Hut 16-17) (Please ask a member of catering staff) Alternatively we have plenty of outdoor seating in the vicinity of our Café where food and drink purchased inside can be consumed outside.
The only place we do not allow dogs is in our Children's Play area.
