Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We landed on dharmadam by chance which was not much on itenary. After checking out few places we were not very happy and then thought of trying dharmadam.. To our surprise place was awesome with no one around. Amazed to see such a clean beach in India.. It is amazing...Try this place in early morning hours and you will get the best out of it. There is an island which is accessible by walk if the tides are not very high. Have a beach walk, meditate, feel serenity and come back after having a cup of tea in one and only local tea shop in the beach😊Happy travelling...

At low tide you can walk on foot to the island and enjoy the coconut groove, Only thing is we should be accompanied by some local guy.

There are 2 major beaches which are a must go if you visit Dharmadham. The first one is near the Dharmadham Beach tourism Centre. It's a perfect getaway unlike other beaches with very less crowd. There is a small island just off the beach and you can cross the sea during a low tide to reach that island. The area is pretty safe, so if you're staying anywhere around the beach, you could camp on the beach at night.
The second one is around 2-3 kms from this beach. It's a totally different experience as it offers something that very few beaches in India do. You could take your vehicle/bike on this beach for a considerably long stretch, probably something that's un-matchable anywhere else.

As the title suggests, it is one of the best beaches that I have visited. Ideal time to visit this beach is after 4 in the evening. At this time the rays of the sun don't hurt that much and you have 2-3 hours to play in the water. But more importantly there is an island near the beach which is accessible during low tide. By accessible, I mean that you can actually walk down to the island. Safe for women as well. There is usually a lifeguard. But a word of caution for foreigners. Given the conservative nature of the state, bikinis are probably not the best thing to wear here. Nobody will say anything but you will get a lot of ogling then. Still much better than the overrated Kovalam beach.

Had visited this beach twice.. one pre -commercialising into tourism Centre and postit been a tourist centre and renovation..
Well have to mention the renovation has added a bit of charm..but commercialising does bring in crowd and with it sadly the garbage and waste...
The first visit made me return a second time.. but the charm of virgin beach is nothing like it.. hope tourism board takes note..

Was it the time that we went or is it always like that? A very nice place, well done but absolutely no body there. The beach was not clean and a herd of dogs roaming around. This could be a very good tourist attraction if the authorities work a bit on it.

Dharmadam is a small beach, but its quite beautiful and there is a small island nearby the beach in the sea. In the early morning time you can walk into the island it will be a different experience. Swimming in this beach not appreciable as there are many rocks are there inside the water.

Lovely beach. You can walk to an island during low tide. The beach is clean and private.(As private as it gets in Kerala, which unlike Goa can be not-so- private). Swimming is safe, again only if you area good swimmer and used to the sea.
