A must see! We visited with about 18 others on a day threatening to cut our excursion short by thunder showers but were rewarded with the stroll around the tranquil, impeccable grounds and two of the most stunning churches we've encountered in Moldova. It is a short distance from Donici House, in Donici, and Orheiul Veche/Butuceni so you can visit... More

Curchi monastary is located 15km from Orhei and is the best and most beautifull monastary of the country. The main church can not be entered, but is very pretty from the outside. there is also a nice park next to it.

Absolutely worth the trip and the small hike and the donation to the monk in the cave church. Spectacular no rails view from ledge down river Raut. Must do.

It's a great outskirt of civilization located however just 55 kilometers (34 miles) from the capital of Moldova. It;s an hour of drive and you will find yourself in the one of the most picturesque corners of Moldova. Oak forest and small lakes located in the same place represent the magnificient scenery alongside with this Orthodox Monastery buildings. Monastery temples... More

The positioning is very good, not far from Chisinau. Nice nature, friendly people. There were too much people in the day, it was on Sunday, but I think it is better to visit this place during the week.

The grounds and landscaping were perfect. The churches and monks quarters were nicely painted and in beautiful colors. The older church was locked so I did not see the inside. The newer church was unlocked, but no pictures allowed. The walls are impressive and there is a lake at the side of the road just outside the church. Across the... More

Beautiful and peaceful monastery and church that was renovated a few years back. There was a wedding when ve visited and it added to the charm. The church is beautifully decorated and has great icons. Nice garden and lake near-by. Donate a few Lei to the lady at the exit and she will record your name for the night prayer.

the Curchi monastery is a very nice place to visit. the road there is good. it has been well restored, showing that the church has quite some money. the gardens are very nice and have a nice backdrop. an added element of interest can be the huge limousines in summer for the Moldovan weddings, along with the pretty ladies in... If the rush-hour traffic at the bottom of Negruzzi in Chisinau has left you feeling nervous, or if you've found the central bus-station depressing, then this is the place to come to calm down, learn to appreciate beauty again, and re-charge your spiritual batteries. The monastic foundation, as I understood, is centuries old, but it was suppressed and the buildings... More
