I really enjoyed my trip to copper coast! The visitor center was one of the nicest experiences I had in Ireland. We went to use the facility when it happened to be closed, but a woman kindly opened it for us and I will never forget her generosity.

I'm sure at one stage in the history of the Earth that the Coast of Waterford and the Coast of Cornwall were attached. Both extremely similar and dramatic but Waterford has the added benefit of the Comeragh mountains, nice to be able to do a loop of a coastal drive west followed by a mountain drive back east. When going... More

We read a lot about the Copper Coast Drive before arriving in Ireland--we had high hopes....but now having done it we feel it was not worth a major detour from the West. The scenery was okay, but much of it was a bit distant from the road...and overall if you are a first time visitor to Ireland, it is not... More

We drove the copper coast route and ended up in the visitors centre. Our teenage girls wanted WiFi to contact loved ones and download etc etc... The scones were just perfect and the cake with beer was scrumptious too. We had to drag the girls out at 5 when it closed. There seems to be lots of information about the... More

Spent a couple of enjoyable hours at this centre set in a wonderful converted chapel, displays and videos explaining the social history and archaeology of the area, with a nice cafe serving fresh food, friendly staff.

Driving down the Waterford coastline today and stopped in Bonmahon to visit the Copper Coast Geopark Visitor Centre. Enjoyed a lovely cup of Tea with homemade scones, yummy. Didn't have time this time to check out the GeoPark exhibition, but it's all housed in an old restored Church. Beautiful stonework. You can learn about the Copper Coast and its history, heritage... My family lived in the Bunmahon area for generations and I have a passion for the history oft the area. I visited the visitor centre and had lovely coffee and scones with my cousin. We found that some of the displayed information was rather sanitized and not accurate. The staff were very pleasant, however it was unprofessional of one lady... More

We'd heard about this for a while, but only got around to visiting recently. The visitor centre is in a former church and has been very tastefully converted. It's worth paying the small fee to see the displays and audio-visual presentation about the history of the area, which bring the whole place to life. You really get a feel for... More
