    Beautiful to see
Great vibes, great walks, great nature, great food! Some of the places are more expensive than you'd see if you walked a few miles out, but the portions were generous and worth it in my opinion. You could also see some sea turtles if you're lucky! Mind out, they have strong bites

    Agostoli
Went to agostoli in our hire car, found it hard to find a parking space, finished up all the way up past the harbour for the ferry to luxury. So we had a long walk back. But we enjoyed it. The temp was very hot. (38) loved the shops. Plenty of places to stop and have a cool drink. Had lunch at k63 food was nice. Well worth a visit.

    Capital of Kefalonia
The biggest town and the capital of Kefalonia is certainly worth a visit. The only reason coming during the day would be seeing the sea turtles, but to see them you should come early morning. During the day, in scorching heat there's nothing to do. The town comes alive at night. Many restaurants and bars to choose, huge central square, nice promenade by the sea and crossing the old bridge across the bay are must.

Worth a trip - nice atmosphere
A bit of a way from Skala where we were staying so as first timers visiting the island we went via a half day trip with Tui. Definitely worth a visit, plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants and a nice harbour front. Does get very busy in the evenings though. You can see turtles in the harbour, usually in the mornings where the fishing boats come in. Restaurants along the harbour side and one where you can find some traditional singing in the evening, which was a great atmosphere.

    Best town on the island
Visited town a few times during the day and evening, and in my opinion, it's the best place on the island. It has all the shops you'll need, without being overbearing, and it was never crowded, irrespective of the times we visited. There are a multitude of eating places, offering snacks through to full sit-down meals. The highlight seems to be turtle spotting along the harbour - sometimes you see them, sometimes you don't, but we got lucky and saw a lovely pair quite happily swimming alongside the harbour wall. It can get busier when the cruise ships come in, but to be honest, most of them go straight out on tours of the isalnd anyway, so the town remains pretty peaceful.

    The main town Argostoli.
A suoer pkace to go to, plenty of tavernas, prices all very much the same, gets busy in high season from 1100 hrs, so parking might be a bit difficult. The turtles are there too, hovering around the promenade, goid to see if you have seen them before. Overall, good enjoyable place to be.

    Turtle spotting
Nice walk along the promenade & plenty of opportunities to view the turtles on the observation area. Have fun spotting their heads coming up to breathe & eat - lovely. Especially when the fishermen & a local restaurant throw fish into the harbour. Also plenty of gulls then as well!

    Turtle s didn't disappoint
Lovely seeing the turtles swimming in the harbour beautiful cafes along a long prom. Ideal for those who love walking. Peddle boats were a bit pricey. A few less turtle than when we last visited but still impressive to see them

Encountering Turtles and Seal in Argostoli Harbour
I have visited many harbours in the Greek Islands but never found a place where loggerhead turtles come up to the harbour wall to feed. The shopping, restaurants and cafes are also first class and even the parking was good. Take a boar trip just outside the harbour and you will be able to visit Seal Cove where Monk Seals, Europes most endangered mammals play in the surf at sundown.

    Lovely Argostoli!
My son and I took the local bus from Lourdas to Argostoli. It was punctual and very cost effective at £2 each, each way! It took about an hour and we spent 4 hours there. There are lots of nice craft type shops, cafes and restaurants and a lovely harbour. It's definitely worth a visit as feels very typically greek and very lovely!

Nice scenic walk with the family. There are plenty of cafes and bars along the road and you may be lucky enough to see the rare turtles swimming nearby.

Lots of shops, restaurants and bars. You can book a boat trip from here. There are turtles in the harbour but the best time to see them is in the morning when the fishing boats come in.
