Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There is a promenade from the parking lot (500 yen) to the base of the falls, so even small dogs can walk there, even though there are slopes and stone steps. The waterfall is about 20 meters high, but it is 150 meters wide and the sight of multiple streams falling down is gentle and beautiful. The sound of the water and the splashes are refreshing.

This park is so beautiful and green. It is amazing to see the many, many tiny falls forming almost a curtain across the vertical cliff with the trees above and the lake below. It is a very easy walk/hike from the tourist information center and presents a very serene and picturesque view.

Shiraito Falls is a waterfall where melting snow from Mt. Fuji springs from a cliff and tumbles down along the curved cliff at a height of 20m and a width of 150m. It is said to have been named Shiraito Falls because it resembles numerous strands of silk threads. The waterfall has a feminine, soft appearance.
From the large parking lot, there is a promenade that goes all the way around Shiraito Falls. Along the way, you will also see Obinmizu and Otodome Falls, so we recommend walking around the promenade to enjoy them all.

I visited again for the first time in about 50 years. It had been completely developed into a modern tourist spot.
The man at the parking lot was cheerful and energetic, and kindly told me about spots where you can see both Mt. Fuji and the waterfall, as well as where the toilets are.
The rainbow over the waterfall was very beautiful.

As I got closer to the parking lot, I was surprised to see more and more foreigners. Compared to when I came here about 30 years ago, the area has been beautifully maintained since Mt. Fuji became a World Heritage Site. The waterfall is very powerful because of the rain the day before, but the water itself is very clean and refreshing thanks to the power of Mt. Fuji. Looking at a waterfall makes you feel refreshed.

We took local bus from Fujinomiya JR station. The one way fare is about 620 yen but if you buy return ticket about 1110yen.The journey is about 25minutes where you can see Mount Fuji at your right side. And if you are lucky you can see until the mountain peak while in the bus.
We had a lovely time watching the beautiful waterfall view. There is also gift shop nearby if you want to buy some souvenir. The information center is equipped with modern western toilet with washlet for you to use.The bus here is not so frequent so better check the departure time table before you headed to see the waterfall.

There were 2 different waterfalls. Otodome No Taki (one large fall) was visible by a lookout point with 3 steps up. Shiraito No Taki Falls has one large fall and many smaller falls along the canyon wall cascading into a beautiful pool. The falls were absolutely gorgeous and easily accessed by a walkway with railing. There were numerous vantage points to take beautiful photos. There are also many small stores selling souvenirs and food. If you enjoy waterfalls, these falls are definitely worth a visit.

A little difficult to get to if you dont know Japanese, but if you have the name in Japanese ( or say it out loud) people will help you. The falls themselves are really quite beautiful and definately not your typical waterfall. Its name translates as white water curtain, and thats what ut looks like. Nice shops at the top let u buy souveniors or, as i do when i go, grab a locally made cider or beer, sit and look out to the falls. Close to here is the German brewery as well. Maybe a km away or half a mile.

Hello, would like to visit these falls to get a nice view of the water + Mount Fuji. I am planning on leaving from Tokyo Station and use JR pass but I know the closest station to the falls is Fujinomiya Station. Once here does anyone know if there’s maybe a bus or something I can take in order to get to the falls? And possibly how many times it comes? Or can one take a taxi from Fujinomiya Station to get to the falls? Thankyou!

Hello,
I planned to visit the fall on this 31st December. Does it still worth to go in the winter like this?
Thanks :)

Absolutely. It may be a little chilly, but on the plus side you won't have to fight large summer time crowds.
