歴史の好きな方と旧浅羽町内を一緒に歩いて廻りました。小笠原氏の居城で了教寺のお墓があるそうです。了教寺の前の説明板を見ると小高い所が馬伏塚城だったようです。近藤記念館の方に聞いたところ、絵図の居城の周りのお堀が湿地帯だったようです。本丸は少し離れた所に鳥居が建っている処らしいです。武田軍との戦いの砦のようなところだったようです。歴史の好きな方にはお勧めです。

戦国時代に徳川方の城で武田方と戦った場所のようです。現在は城跡の大半が、宅地や田畑になっていて中心部の少しこんもりした部分が残っているだけです。戦国時代のお城なので石垣とかはなく土塁らしき遺構がありました。

馬伏塚城跡ですが周りは、田園となっていて少し山というか丘になっているところが城跡のようです。
その城跡には、鳥居と祠がありました。
そして入り口に説明看板と石碑がありました。
馬伏塚城跡の事を詳しく知りたい場合は、浅羽記念公園内にある袋井市郷土資料館に行くといいですよ！

馬伏塚（マムシヅカ）城跡の近くに知人がいて何度か行ったり、ウォーキングで何度も立ち寄ったことがあります。袋井市役所浅羽支所の東北に位置して、ウォーキングで歩いていても興味のない人は素通りしてしまいそうなところにあります。数メートルくらいの小山に木が生い茂っていて神社があり、碑が建っているくらいです。案内板では戦国時代の遠江地方の歴史で高天神城とともに重要なところだったようです。
