Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This used to be a Greek village but at the end of the Greco-Turk war, all its Greek habitants were asked to leave during the exchange of population.

The village was then abandoned for years and is now being renovated by Turkish people.

This is a beautiful walk around.

This is a beautiful ancient village set in a wooded valley above the sea. The village was abandoned after the population exchanges in the 1920s, when the former (Greek) inhabitants were required to leave their homes and get resettled in Greece. In recent years many abandoned houses have been brought back to life, creating a very picturesque scene, It is the perfect spot to chill-out after a visit to the nearby classical sites of Prien or Miletos. My friend and I enjoyed a pleasant stroll and then settled down for refreshments at Mola Cafe. Unfortunately we were greatly disappointed to be massively overcharged at this place. We strongly recommend visitors check the exact price of any products you are offered at this cafe, so as to avoid a nasty surprise. A visit to this village, however, is highly recommended.

We stayed at Eskidogbaney House for 4 nights, both on 2008 and again in 2022. Beautiful accommodation and a wonderfully, peaceful and attractive old village. This was originally one of the Greek villages that were cleared in the 1920’s and is slowly being renovated with lots of accomodation options and a few cafes. The best cafe is the Samos Restaurant on the main walking path from the car park.

A nice village, preserved, from greek residents before migration. No entrance fee. No vehicles in the village due to road condition but there is a parking lot before the village. Cell phones are not operating well, almıst no 4G signal or wifi, no pool, no swimming,…. Quiet, cool, old herştage but modern touch (coffee, beer, ..). Explore yourself and / or the one you love!

Having been to the local fish restraunts on the beach just up the road thought that I would spend some time here and it is such a charming place with all the history that surrounds its past I was looking for the ghost village as its also called having been abandoned in the past ,now that its been done up in some areas just adds to the charm the views are stunning and you can see the greek look of the old buildings and in the area around .It has a small café there so that you can get a drink or just take in the views.
