We called into this pub for a quick drink. The welcome was extremely friendly and genuine. Annie the barmaid made one of the highlights of our week touring Scotland. Once she found out it was my wife's 50th we had 2 more drinks on the table. Next when my wife popped outside, annie produced from out the back a 50th birthday banner which pleasantly surprised my wife on her return. We also mentioned that we were looking for a good place to eat and were recommended the local golf club. Annie offered to book us a table and we had a wonderful meal there that evening. But before we left the pub there were offeres of drinks and a rendition of happy birthday. What a wonderful pub. Will return one day.

Stuck in Fortrose, waiting on the bus. Went in here. It was spotless, much cleaner than the Plough, where we felt we didn’t want to eat. No food here, but the barman said we could bring in sandwich. Bakers is practically next door. Charming barman. Clean pub. Brilliant

Visited on an early afternoon with my wife. We didn’t even finish our drink. There were a group of very loud men at the bar and the language was disgusting despite a few ladies present in the bar. I have not heard so many expletives in a bar in years. They were particularly fond of the Cu** word and my wife finds that truly offensive. The young barmaid made no attempt to curb this behaviour. Don’t take your wife or girlfriend to this place.
