We loved the casual atmosphere. They accommodated us last-minute and we were amazed by the flavours and selection. They had offerings for vegetarians and a person with celiac disease (senza glutine). Their specialty: the bolognese. White truffle is the local delicacy. It is infused (mildly) in many dishes. They do it correctly so it is not overpowering. We returned again and were not disappointed. We also managed to purchase the bolognese sauce for take out. It's a challenging drive in the dark but your GPS will help you.

We visited Fattoria Collebrunacchi for a truffle hunting experience and it turned into the highlight of our trip. Francesca, who was our guide, our host and our chef provided such a great experience for us that we would do it again if we're ever in San Miniato. Ciocco, our truffle hunting dog was a highlight as well. The truffle hunt itself was wonderful because we, luckily, did not have a large group and ended up receiving a private truffle hunt. Ciocco was so great because he found 3-4 truffles even though we went during an off peak season. After the truffle hunt which took us through such beautiful countryside with olive trees and neighbors who were waving to us as we walked through the hillside, we came back to Francesca's home where she served us the most wonderful meal I've ever had in my life. We had our truffles and some wild asparagus we found during our walk in our freshly made meal with white truffle sauce, shaved truffle and truffle flavoring in our omelet, crostini, charcuterie and pasta which was the best tagliatelle I've ever had. Francesca and Ciocco made our experience in San Miniato so wonderful, 2 months later we're still regaling all of our friends and family about what a great experience we had there. I can't say enough about how great this was for us.

As fledgling foodies, and just as people who like unique experiences, we had a blast on this day trip to San Miniato to find and eat truffles.
We took a morning train from Florence and were met at the station by Francesca, who drove us to her friends at Tartufo Nacci. There we went on an hour-long excursion with Ricardo and his dogs Nebbia (the bread-winner) and Luna (the adorable trainee). It was so fun to learn about the history and techniques behind truffle-hunting, and then to witness Nebbia as she did her work! She found 4 black truffles, which we took back to headquarters to wash and weigh.
After the truffle-hunting, Monica drove us to meet Francesca at her family's place, Fattoria Collebrunacchi. After giving us a tour of the lovely property, Francesca prepared the most amazing food for us -- charcuterie, thin beef filet, and homemade fettucini with our truffles shaved on top! It was one the best meals of our trip, no question. Francesca and Monica ate with us, and were pleasant company, friendly but not intrusive.
Then it was back to the train station, and back to Florence. Though we spent several more days in Italy, we kept thinking back on this excursion. Definitely a highlight for us!

We had an absolutely wonderful morning truffle hunting with Francesca and Ciocco (Choco) the lively, clever dog. I've always wanted to do it and it didn't disappoint. A highlight was the 7 truffles we found - and of course eating them afterwards! The farm is extensive and spectacular and Francesca's hospitality was excellent. After the truffle hunt we were treated to pre-luncheon snacks and excellent white wine from their own stock followed by a very tasty luncheon cooked, accompanied by excellent red wines from the farm, and in served in an impressive wood-pannelled and hunting trophy-filled formal dining room. San Miniato is a 30 minute train journey from Florence and well worth the trip. We will be going again.

Went there for a truffle hunting tour, a very interesting event. Thanks Francesca's guidance and the hunting dog Choco. The meal afterward was excellent. Ham, cheese, pasta, and of course the most important truffle, all were great!! And also the wines were wonderful, we've bought some back home. Recommended if you will go somewhere nearby Florence or Pisa.

A true highlight of our trip - our family chose the Luxury Truffle Experience and it was magical! We toured the forest with the owner and her truffle hunting dog (such a good boy). After finding 2 white truffles we headed back to the homestead where we feasted on delicious items with shaved truffles, enjoyed their homemade olive oil and wine. Everything about this experience surpassed our expectations!

Francesca, our amazing Truffle Hunting guide took us on quite the Truffle Adventure. Thanks to Ciocco we found 5 delicious Truffles that were then cooked and served for lunch, which was delicious and prepared by the real Italian Mamma. We had a blast!
I strongly recommend Truffle Hunting with them!
Grazie Francesca and family, you are amazing!

What a truly amazing experience. So interesting! My husband is a forager in the USA and was very interested in this excursion. I too found it delightful. After an hour to one and half hour hunt in the woods (yes choco, the dog led us to multiple white truffle finds) we went back a fabulous meal. The food was the best we had during our stay in Tuscany! We also were able to taste multiple wines and olive oil all made right there. We would highly recommend adding this to your Tuscany visit.

Mu husband and I just celebrated our 40th Anniversary with a trip to Europe. Although we visited several incredible countries and cities, the Truffle Hunting Experience in San Miniato with Francesca, her dog Cioco and our guide Matteo remains, by far, the most authentic and memorable. Matteo met us and 6 others in Florence and drove us to Fattoria Collebrunacchi. Matteo is very warm, witty, charismatic and very knowledgeable about truffle hunting - regaling us with stories and making us laugh a lot. By the time we arrived at our destination, we all felt like friends. Our group was made up of Americans & Canadians - one newlywed couple on their honeymoon, two sisters celebrating a birthday, a couple celebrating their 2nd anniversary and us. Despite the various ages and stages, thanks to Matteo we quickly jelled and had an absolutely magical time together. When we arrived at the Villa, Matteo introduced us to Francesca and Cioco and then we all set off walking through the gorgeous Tuscan countryside and into the woods. It was white truffle season and Cioco did not disappoint. He found several white truffles and then, to everyone's surprise, he also found several black truffles! Even though the black truffle season was officially over, Matteo and Francesca explained that the unseasonably warm weather had inadvertently extended the black truffle season. After we completed our truffle hunt, Francesca and Cioco graciously posed with us for photos, which Matteo took. We all had a lovely time visiting the beautiful gardens and the Chapel on the grounds of Francesca's villa before going inside for our meal. Truly, one of the most delicious meals we had on our whole trip. BEST Tagliatelle I've ever eaten - complete with truffles and wine pairings. First time having Grappa with dessert but would highly recommend it! After our meal, we went to a Chianti Winery and had a tour, followed by a wine tasting in a private room. Matteo has had training and worked as a Chef and is also a certified Sommelier, so he was the perfect guide for both parts of our trip. He not only talked us through the finer points of our meal, he guided us through the various wines and introduced us to new ones. After the Winery, he drove us all back to Florence. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour. Although it is a little pricey, it is worth every penny.
