A pretty setting for an hour's stroll
Aug 2021
Sywell country park is set around a smallish, irregularly shaped reservoir, in a wooded valley in the heart of the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside.
Car parking is convenient and plentiful. It costs £3.20 for up to 4 hours with increments for longer periods.
There are a number of features around the parking area, including some of the old water board buildings, a playground and a lovely butterfly garden. There is a also a charming small cafe that serves drinks and a good selection of snack food at a reasonable price.
The main feature is the trail around the reservoir, which is 2.5 miles long and mostly level, with a few modest slopes here and there. It is a very pleasant walk, taking in some wooded areas as well as the reservoir itself and some beautiful views across the countryside. The reservoir is home to a variety of birdlife, so take your binoculars.
A really enjoyable visit.

Lovely place

A great place to walk. A decent size walk too. We didn’t take kids but the play areas looked lovely. There were toilets which were clean and had toilet roll well stocked. 10/10

Lovely park but under par food.

This is a lovely, well kept park with a decent walk around a reservoir. It doesn’t seem to get too busy and I’ve not found parking to be a problem. My 6 year old daughter met her friend last there and we all enjoyed the walk and the playground.
We also ate at the Pump House diner which to be honest wasn’t the greatest. Over priced for what it was and my “American bacon and cheese hotdog” looked as if it had been dropped before serving up. The burgers look good from a distance but not so much when you get up close.
My advice, take a picnic.

This place is great for walking. You can do a circuit of the lake which has crowds of wildlife. There is an adventure playground for the kids and a pleasant cafe area.

Outstanding Country Park
Apr 2021 • Couples
Sywell Country Park is an excellent day out and is a place of outstanding beauty. The staff that look after and maintain the Park are doing a fabulous job. The beauty of the Park is its simplicity and nature being at the forefront of how it is managed. Sywell Country Park is a excellent day out.

Only visited this place for the first time in March, a midweek evening and it was almost empty. Beautiful open spaces.

Really enjoyed
Apr 2021 • Family
Great place for a walk! The full route around took about 2 hours with a 9 year old and 4 year old. The paths are all solid although a little uneven in places. We had some lunch from the cafe which was reasonably priced and had a decent selection of food and drinks.
Only very small negative was the car park wasn't massive so would imagine it gets quite full on a busy day.

I saw this place on Trip Advisor so i decided to try it out! This place is so fun! They have everything including: a play area for the kids, a little woodland with underground tunnels, a lake to look out on, climbing areas, a cafe and a car park! 9/10 would come again!

Couldn't park
Oct 2020 • Couples
Wasted journey due to parking spaces not open. Council not helping any of us by not opening the grassed parking area. Wouldn't go here if the sun is shining as you will not be able to park at this time of year. The council seriously needs to investigate more parking at this site. Such a shame
