The water was warm and very clear, however, a lot of the coral is dead and just a few colourful fish to look at whilst snorkeling. I won't be rushing back and if time in Timor Leste is limited, give Jaco Island a miss and...More

Most beautiful and magnificent place ever in East Timor. From Dili city to Tutuala Beach (the nearest spot to the island) will take 6-7hours to drive (by land). Many adventurous sightseeing you might see along the road. Beautiful beaches, traditional villages, desert, hills. Once you...More

This is one of the most amazing little islands you will ever go to anywhere! It's at the easternmost tip of East Timor and a hard place to get to, but absolutely worth the effort. As a backpacker, your most convenient base to get there...More

While this beach is beautiful and offers white sand, tranquility and great snorkelling it is very hard, long and expensive to get to and frankly not worth it if you are in Timor-Lest on holidays for a short period of time. If you go to...More

Is Jaco a white sandy beach with good snorkeling and diving? Yes, it is. However, it is a very long way from Dili and is a massive drive. The last 8 km is a joke. Trying to promote this island with such a diabolical drive...More

Jaco and Tutuala are the wow factor in East Timor and a must go. Take a tour guide unless you have your own 4wd and know the area pretty well. The road is long and dangerous. But then you arrive and immediately the scenery, the...More

In this place there are a lot of memories, both good or bad. But, most of the experiences give a lot of lesson for goodness and knowledge. Its really great to visit it again in the future.

6 hours of bumpy road only travelled by 4 wheel drive vehicles are worthy when you get to an untouched beach where you can ser turtles, coral reefs, cristalino warm water. Never to be forgotten.

Really wonderful adventure. Took a previous Trip Advisor reviewer's advice and did it over three days, staying at the Poussada de Bacau (in Bacau) on the first and last nights, and at the Valu Sere guest house at Tutuala Beach on the second night. Make...More
