Located in the entrance of Kumbakonam from thanjavur. Ample parking available at the temple side road and many temples nearby and walkable. A divine experience to worship ad kumbeshwarar.

Adi kumbeswarar temple is situated in kumbakonam. Lord Shiva temple. Got nice darshan. We went for the evening pooja.

Kumbeswarar temple is the most important temple, among so many temples in and around the town of Kumbakonam with its tank, so famous for holy dip once every 12 years (Mahamaham) which comes around again in 2026..!

Magnificient architecture and dedicated to lord shiva . After visiting , one would get the history of Kumakonam city . Very powerful lord and it is centrally located

The lord Siva was formed from the kumbam (mean in tamil) as lingam. The place named due to this.the temple is so grand

Visited this temple in the evening. Best to visit evening 5 PM or so when they perform Abhishekam for both God Siva and Goddess. The Maha Harathi is amazing.

The temple opens about 4 pm. Very nice ambience. The priest was very nice. Unlike some temples it was not crowded. We got a peaceful feeling after the visit. A must go when you visit Kumbakonam
