Impressive mummies

We then entered the bar besides the church and got the coins to visit one of the main attractions of the town, located in the former baptistery right in front of the cathedral entrance. Under the baptistery are displayed 5 of the 42 mummies which were found during works on the cathedral in the 17th century. Only 15 remained after the earthquake and 5 are permanently displayed to the public. The bodies date between the 13th and 19th centuries (others were buried after the first were found); supposedly the bodies mummified due to the presence of a specific soil and fungus.

A curious experience, slightly on the creepy side
Sep 2017 • Friends
Alongside the Duomo in Venzone, this tiny underground chapel holds five mummified bodies, seemingly preserved by an accident of chemistry. It's hard not to be slightly shocked when you descend the stairs and first see the bodies, but there is also a real sense of curiosity once that feeling passes.

museum of spirits
Jun 2017 • Friends
its not possible to protect the dead body for long centuries but there are five body spirits ( dead body since more than three hundreds years. first i was scared while i saw the 5 body in the glass chamber ( symmetry ) who were died into the monastery due to the earthquake. many people were died around there due to the earthquake but they found five and kept in museum. its worthy to visit there for other cultural and architectural glancing. if you go to visit venzone don't miss that to see.

The museum is in the basement of the Battistero of Sant'Andrea
May 2016 • Couples
The Battistero of the Duomo Sant'Andrea in Venzone is interesting in its own right; in addition to this, in the basement is a museum showing several mummies. Entrance tokens for this museum can be obtained in several shops in the streets round the Piazetta del Duomo.
