Spectacular ancient petroglyphs
Aug 2018 • Couples
The site is wonderful, magical and a must see. This site is actually in Zalavruga, not far from the town of Belomorsk.

The museum does not organize tours, but call Dmitriy at 8 911-424-15-31. He and his colleagues are experts on this site (and literally wrote a book about it). Their are tours are wonderful and invaluable to appreciate these petroglyphs (there are other petroglyph sites in the world, but very few of such variety and spectacular quality).

twisted prehistoric people

best viewed at sunrise/sunset, these stone carvings are quite a puzzle and look like a child's drawing. but they are truly wonderful. the guide was awesome. there is a small souvenir shop on site.
PS beware of mosquitoes!

Beautiful place
Aug 2015 • Family
We liked the Petroglyphs side. It felt a bit like being a discoverer! There are no museum infrastructure just some handwriting signs showing the way (1.3km from the carpark) to the Petroglyphs. On the side, what is quite beautifull, you have to search the Petroglyphs by your self. That's adventures! Some are easy to find, some you will just recognise on the second view. Best time to go is in the morning or evening, because of the light situation. In summer bring mosquito repellent, because on the way through the forest are many mosquitos.

It's a pitty that the pavilion with other Petroglyphs in Vygostrov is closed (because danger of collapsing) at the moment.
