Been three times (once as a teenager with mum and dad, back with twice with my boyfriend now husband). Each time has been interesting. Drove up twice but scary since it is so steep. 4wd would be easier.

It's out of the way but a must visit. Walk through the ruins in the hills. Amazing views and photo opportunities. It must have been so cold and so tough for those early gold mining pioneers
