Described as his most hidden treasure, the 'Gaudí Crypt' is located in Colonia Guell, an industrial village that was built by Eusebi Guell around his textile factory.  Guell had begun work on Colonia Guell in 1890 after the textile factory was moved away from the...More

I pre-purchased an entrance ticket via online. I was excited and was looking forward to visiting Colonia Guell. When I visited there, it was just about to close so I could not enter. I didn't know the day was a public holiday so they closed...More

A beautiful precursor to La Sagrada Familia and meant to be more spectacular than it already is. I can't decide whether the inside or the outside is the most wonderful, because both are beautiful in every detail. A must see.

This small village, at the outskirts of Barcelona, was designed by Gaudi for the workers of Guell. He built the church, which is unfinished. If you want to visit the church, you are immediately halted by a very unfriendly guard asking for your entrance tickets....More

A very interesting portrayal of a working class community. The textile magnate really controlled every aspect of his workers lives. The Gaudi crypt was beautiful - so peaceful even if unfinished. Well worth the visit.

This was an experimental building for Gaudi and one that helped shape his plans for the Sagrada Familia. Absolute dynamite: you wonder how those sloping pillars manage to keep the roof up! I have visited Barcelona about 20 times but this year was the first...More

the information center is well informed and nicely build. I suggest to start with the second floor of the center. The colony, the life and the crypt are well explained. But be warned this is not your first destination in Barcelona.

You will need a Zone 2 card. It's just beyond the inner zone, about a 20 minute trip.
