A lovely little clock tower. On the way back to the main street after being at the harbour. A lovely building too.

This clock tower is an interesting feature of Stonehaven. There is a useful interpretation board adjacent and an ancient market cross (mercat cross)

Visited this returning from harbour after lunch at Tollbooth. Superb clock tower built in 1790. Barometer dates from 1852 which was used by the fishing industry. Bells chime on the hour and well worth a visit when you are in the area.

We could not enter the tower, however the display outside was informative on the history and construction of the tower, and its relevance to the town and port.
