This Art Deco outdoor pool is certainly worth a visit. The pool is heated and very clean in all the areas. They have late night swims available and to swim there under the stars is quite an experience

Went with a couple of friends. Assault course in the middle of the pool was excellent fun. Helps that the pool is heated

Many who enjoyed summer holidays as I did in Scotland in the 1960s and early 70s will remember the various outdoor pools fondly. Our family holidays were spent in Troon, Girvan and Ayr, spending many happy hours in the (now closed) pools at Troon and Prestwick. When I went down the chute at Stonehaven this year I was no longer... More

What a find. Worth the round trip from Dundee. Would have spent all day here if I'd had the time. Great little cafe, water comfortably warm, clean and bright. Surprisingly uncrowded.

The pool is run by volunteers and what a superb job they do. Keep up the great work and maintain this fabulous Victorian heritage and custom.

Thank you for your kind comments, Gavin M. However, the Friends of the Pool - the volunteers - don't actually run the Pool. We do work hard to enhance, maintain and promote the Pool - that means a lot of hard scrubbing, scraping and painting to ensure it looks its best for opening each year at the end of May... More

the water's salty. It's in scotland. If the pool temperature is OK, you can bet your last gallion it'll be windy.

It was so nice to take my grandsons to swim in water which was warm and didn't smell of chlorine! Finding an outdoor heated pool is like going back to my childhood and the fact that it's crystal clear, clean seawater is the icing on the cake. It's ideal for a family outing with deep and shallow sections, terraces for... More

Thank you so much CRANNALAIRD. Your kind comments make all the hard work put in by the Friends of the Pool and Aberdeenshire Council's excellent staff all worthwhile. Hope to welcome you back with your grandsons again in 2017. More

Fantastic open air pool with seating - you can take a picnic too! Parking just at the day and near a play park. Hot food is also served at very reasonable prices. Staff can not do enough for you. Brilliant day out.

Stonehaven Open Air Pool is the place to go on a perfect sunny day. The sea water is heated and if the sun is out its like being at the beach but in better surroundings.

It can also be fun in poor weather - after all, if it rains, you can't get any wetter! The Pool will open for the 2017 season at the end of May. More

Although the water is heated, the wind isn't! swimming was fine, but stand up and you get blasted by the wind which makes you feel really cold! We took our 3yo and 5yo, both had fun, but wanted out after 20min. Not bad, but watch out for flashers in the changing rooms!

If only we could heat the wind!! Not sure what you mean about flashers. There are some cubicles as well as the communal changing area. Any inappropriate behaviour should be reported to pool staff immediately. More
