- Amanda S10 contributionsA hidden gem!Access to the model railway made this day so special for one of today's visitors. He really enjoyed the train ride, all of the amazingly restored carriages he was able to explore and even the small but perfectly stocked shop which is full of affordable trinkets. And I love that you can swerve the shop if you choose 😁 So much information available, so many signs & signals to explore. It really is a little hidden treasure for train enthusiasts, and lovely volunteers. Thank you so much!Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 12 April 2023

- Jane TLondon, United Kingdom248 contributionsGood museum and train rideNot a bad little place to spend a couple of hours. We took our 18 month old who was a bit young but he enjoyed the train ride. The train ride itself is very short and there isn't lots to see. The museum was a nice surprise with so much to look at, it's a real treasure trove. We spent about 90 mins there and didn't rush, it's not the biggest place but worth a visit if in the area.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 20 August 2023

Had a fantastic visit over Easter weekend. My train enthusiast 2 year old enjoyed seeing all the trains, the train ride and the kids brio table. The volunteers were so friendly and knowledgeable. They offered to show us in the front of the train, a steam train being patched up and the model train table. The volunteers would walk around offering to explain exhibits. Amazing visit and we will be back.

Great place to visit when in the area. The warehouse is full of everything and anything from a combine harvestor to signals. An amazing collection to walk around. My 3 year old loved going in all the engines and coaches and we even had a ride on a diesel engine down the track. Cute little shop at entrance to grab a drink and souvenir too.

Is the site accessible for wheelchairs?
David F
London, UK27 contributions
Yes, you will find most of it is on the level. Though someone will have to move a barrier out of the way so that you can get round the usual entrance, since this involves steps. Shouldn't be a problem though.
