You really need a tour at the museum. They are doing a great job and the tour is a performance. A beautiful and young lady takes you to 19th century (dressed in the fashion of 19th century) and you will have chance to taste some really tasty marshmallow and enjoy a cup of tea. If in short, interesting and beautiful.

Important notice! These tips are for international tourists only! 1. Pastila Museum (alternatively Russian Marshmallow Museum) is a relatively recent thing which gained a lot of momentum, but is not the place that locals visit every day. Bear in mind that your local friends might be informed about worse that you. 2. It is fairly expensive (Russian standards). Pastila that... More

Worth a stop if you are in Kolomna, but not a huge flashy attraction. The marshmallow is famous locally although quite specific (not like American marshmallows, more like Turkish delight - vanilla is the best). Not much info in English so bring translation and some imagination. Very busy on holidays.

This museum was the last one in our day-trip to Kolomna. It is again (as in Kalachnaja) more a show. All of us enjoyed it as it was light-hearted and funny. And of course we had a chance to drink tea and try some sweets. It was a great finish of our trip to Kolomna!

This is a museum with an interactive exhibit representing a way of living of Kolomna 17-19th centuries merchants is, doubtless, well done. Their dramatic sketches are interesting and sometimes absorbing. Their marshmallow is authentic - they really search for old receipts in archives and return old desserts. I live in Kolomna and this is one of my loveliest places in... More

Tiny place, need to book a tour in advance, 1 week prior arrival would be ok. Pastila tasting during the tour with a little performance was a nice touch - kids loved it. Nothing so special except the old historical house and an authentic furniture and other interesting things, girls dressed up in old style dresses who explaining the history... More
