Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice well preserved statue of Lenin. Nothing much here, except for the Marriage Park behind the statue. Lots of wedding festivities taking place at the marriage park; with newly wed couples taking pictures and a couple of dancing party cabanas. Nice lively scene; worth visiting

Osh has a huge Lenin statue well kept and on display on a major avenue. We were there shortly before the May 9 commemoration of victory in WWII (or the Great Patriotic War, as it is known in Russia and the ex-Soviet countries). School children were finishing a dance practice and the military did a dry run of a battle reenactment that they will perform in front of the statue on the 9th. It was fun yo watch. Even if you don’t catch a parade rehearsal, you probably will want to see the statue anyhow. It is pretty impressive.

Both Osh and Biskek have the feel of being in a Soviet time warp. Most marxist monuments and symbols are still in place - so a wander through the parks and squares of both towns is educational. Quite a contrast with eastern Europe where all this stuff has been thrown out.

This huge Lenin statue still towers over the central square in Osh long after the end of communism. It's a good thing it does as it provides a real glimpse of the way things must have been before the fall of the Soviet Empire.

While many monuments from this era have been removed around the world, here in Osh the Lenin monument is still standing tall.

Are you looking for, possibly, the largest Lenin statue in the former Soviet Union?
Then look no further.

In all major cities of Kyrygzstan, there is a Lenin monument, and Osh is no exception. The statue of Lenin is in front of the government administration building. It is on a huge base with Lenin's right hand extended, and his left holding his coat. It is a huge statue with a high base, and is probably the largest Lenin statue in Kyrygzstan.

If you are interested in Soviet history, it is interesting to see that the Lenin statue has still survived here, even after independence from the Soviet Union. Many of the Lenin statues in the old Soviet satellite states have been removed to less visible locations or taken down completely. There is a Russian Orthodox Church nearby, a war memorial and a few statues of famous Soviets.

This is an easy place to visit in Osh and worth seeing. There are government offices nearby and weddings in this area often.

This is a large monument. It is very nice, like many other monuments in the city and throughout the country. It was nice to see.
