You've come to Osh, so you have to climb the mountain and see Babur's cave. There's a tiny pretty mosque on the top, popular with pilgrims. The path is narrow and slippery, but OK on a dry day. Enjoy the view, because that's it folks !

Took a walk up the mountain on a sunny afternoon during autumn season. Enjoyed the view on top of the mountain.There are a few off trails along the way up for those who are adventurous enough to try them out. We went up an off trail that led to a cafe and climbed to the top. I really enjoyed a slow walk down the mountain. For a mere 20 soms for the entrance fee, Suleiman Too is definitely worth a visit.

Not much to see in Osh but the climb up Sulaymaniyah-Too is worth doing if only for the city views. There is a small fee and you need to be reasonably mobile as it has quite a few steps up to the top.

Mountain Sulaiman-Too is a World Heritage Site dominating the center of Osh. The Kyrgyzstan flag proudly flies from the top, and the views over Osh and the Fergana Valley are superb. Muslims have come here on pilgrimage for more than a millennium, as (according to legend) the Prophet Mohammed once prayed here.The mountain can be climbed either from the east or west. The ascent from the east starts on Kurmanjan Datka Street and Gapar Aytiev, quickly climbing stone steps to Dom Babura, a small (reconstructed) prayer room used in 1497 by Zahiruddin Babur of Fergana (founder of the Mogul Dynasty). There is a tiny grove of trees offering welcome shade adjacent to the shrine, where one can enjoy the expansive view. The path continues along the side of the mountain, with views of Osh New Mosque and graveyard. Along the path are several caves, all alleged to have spiritual or curative powers, the most popular is Ene-Beshik, known for enhancing women's fertility. There are occasional petroglyphs sprinkled about, attesting to the mountains long use as a spiritual place. At the southwestern side of the mountain is the historic Cave Museum (Museum Sulaiman-Too). From there the path descends to a parking lot on Gapar Aytiev. Starting the climb from this parking lot on the west side (going east) the climb is gentler, but the path is longer. The mountain path is very slick in places from the footsteps of thousands of pilgrims, so sturdy footwear is advised. Guard rails enhance safety in steep places. There is little shade, so the mountain can be quite hot during the summer, particularly in late afternoon when the heat reflects from the sun-baked rocks. Sunsets viewed from the top are spectacular. The mountain is open from 9am to 8pm; there is a small entrance fee (20 som). Public toilets are available both at the entrance kiosk on the east side and at the parking lot on the west side. No drinking water is available on the mountain. There are several cafes, ice cream stands and restaurants near the eastern entrance.

We organised tour from Osh to Song Kol lake and after to Karakol.
Its true who is really helped us and gave us available price. Started from Osh to Toktogul on the way is so beautiful. You will enjoy with a beautiful nature. We booked car with english speaking. He is experienced and safe driver.

With our guide Timur leading the way last August, we did the hike up the holy Sulaiman Mountain. It didn’t take very long but you are rewarded with some great views over the region and many friendly people up there who want to ask you many questions about Canada and will want to take your picture as you are a bit of a novelty in this place.

Not a difficult walk up to the top of Sulaiman-Too. Just take your time and you'll get there! Wear comfortable shoes recommended. You can go up and down from the main entrance (from Kurmanjan-Datka Street, near the 3-storey yurt & cafes). Or walk to the Sulaiman-Too Museum and end up at Aytiev Street.
Walking up during the early morning or evening times are the best. There is a vendor selling drinks and ice-cream at the top look-out area.

If you're looking for something to do in Osh, a hike up Sulaiman-Too will provide you with a couple hours of entertainment, exercise, and a great view of the city.
We visited with our 5 and 6 year old daughters they were very tired of hiking by the time we made it to the top but it was worth it.
You could hike all over the mountain if you wished but we just went up, took in the view and went down. We visited the museum on the way up. We had an "English" guide. She was just learning English and I didn't understand a lot of what she said. There are some petroglyphs within the museum which are worth having a look at.
There was a small fee to park at the bottom, 10 som I believe. The fee to visit the museum was covered by our CBT tour so I don't know how much it was. The museum guide cost us 50 som.

It's an easy walk up the hill, maybe 15 or 20 minutes from the entrance behind the museum. The entrance fee for the mountain alone (no museums included) is 20 som for foreigners. Unfortunately the petroglyphs are basically gone, as people have added their own petroglyphs & graffiti of all kind right on top of these historic etchings & drawings. The views from the mountain are stunning, and it's nice to be able to sort of orient yourself in the city from above. The place is steeped in legend & history, but unfortunately there are no signs explaining anything, especially not in English. I should add that we did not enter either museum, though.

It's a nice walk, but I'd recommend to do it in the afternoon, when the heat is less unbearable :P There are two paths leading to the top and I think it's good to try both of them. Along the longer path there is a museum and a turn leading to petrogliphs on the rocks. The side path is quite steep and it's probably better to have some proper shoes to go there.
