Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went on a 20 degrees day when it was too cold to go to the beach but still sunny enough to enjoy hot springs. It's nice enough, but manage your expectations so that you don't get disappointed. The river is very muddy and the hot springs are warm but not hot. There's an old Ottoman bridge that's quite photogenic, but the pools opposite the car park aren't the prettiest, and when we were there they were full of local guys drinking beer and being quite loud. There are no facilities, and health and safety arrangements are non-existent. It would have been easy to make the place tidier and prettier with a bit of planning and management.
I highly recommend walking upriver and not staying at the car park pools. There are a few more man-made pools there that are quieter and prettier. We didn't do the hike as we were with small kids so that may well be the real highlight. But it was nice enough, and a good alternative to the beach.

A five minute or so walk will take you to a beautiful Ottoman bridge you cross before reaching the thermal baths. There were two principal pools. There are no changing facilities. I went in the larger pool. It is rather slippery with algae at its edges so you must be careful. The water itself was quite clear. Our guide had warned us the 'thermal' aspect is dubious these days, the water not very warm but certainly not on the cool side either. My group was there in the late afternoon so it was not too busy, a bit of compensation. Whatever the lower than expected water temperature, the whole experience was a good one.

When we were there it was not extremely busy. The area is still developing and new houses have been built near the parking lot. I don't know what these are for, but I expect it won't be years before someone starts exploiting this for tourism. There is no landscaped parking lot, but a vacant lot where campers camp wild and there is a lot of waste on this site. The springs are a little further on. You can get to the other side of the river via a medieval bridge or by walking through the river. There are 3 hot springs of approximately 22 degrees. 1 large and 2 small ones. Lovely warm water in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended.

Visit the thermal baths across the Ottoman bridge. There are quite a few people but they are put in different areas. The water is warm and you can spend a different and fun time in contact with nature. It's freely accessible. It is advisable to wear closed rubber shoes or sandals.

Really liked the place. It was August and therefore very busy even late afternoon when we arrived. I'd say it's worth visiting. We just stayed on the first pools just by the bridge but on our way out we found out that there are more pools to the left of the bridge. Unfortunately we didn't have time to explore it, as it was getting late.
The water is pleasant but not really hot as I expected a thermal hot spring to be.

Fortunately, real tourism has not yet broken through with all kinds of tents and entrance fees. The bridge is special to see. Sitting in a sulfur bath is nice but it is also very busy and there is not much space. Walking a little further on the stones or through the water yields nothing extra in terms of larger or deeper pools.

The path is quite long to arrive in front of and on the other side of the baths. A very beautiful old bridge provides access, but crossing the river is a little dangerous. There are a lot of people and some of our group did not cross the bridge.

As we visited Albania off season, we could not swim in the sea, but this was a nice alternative. We water was warm and if you hike a bit into the canyon, you can also find some additional pools. Just be ready to walk through water. Not to mention the view.

Spent a great afternoon here, relaxing in the waters and walking around. The only problem is that there are no toilets so around the bushes there is so much unpleasant waste. The scenery is spectacular, the waters warm, the bridge extraordinary and we met lovely people.

I don't know if it was just a coincidence because of the few rains that the river presented itself like this, but I didn't find anything exceptional, a lot of dirt in terms of waste, tanks lined with nylon tarpaulins to prevent the escape of water and in those few tanks who entered first grabbed them for the whole day. Disappointing. Beautiful instead the naturalistic context and the stone bridge.

Hi! How are the rods? Are there single file dirt road or what should I expect? We drive from Berat.
Written 2 July 2019
the road from Berat to Permet is pretty good as per albanian standard. From Permet to Benja nearly 15min duration and half of it very good and the other half kind a old but manageble. So don't worry about that and enjoy that beauty :)

La strada che dalla SH75 porta alle terme e al ponte é asfaltata o sterrata?
Pensi sia praticabile in camper?
Secondo te é zona tranquilla per pernottare?
Grazie anticipate per la risposta che mi vorrai dare.
