L'Aventure du Sucre invites you to a superb and interactive tour along the pathways of history and into the heart of Mauritius and its cultures. You will explore the memories of an era that will never stop travelling your mind. Each episode, each anecdote unveils the magic world of sugar. The tour is at the same time amazing, mesmerizing and enriching. L'Aventure du Sucre keeps the best to last : the tasting of the best of the Mauritian sugar industry, 12 unrefined natural sugars kept for export and having their own colour, texture and taste. You will also taste 9 New Grove rums which is the outcome of a meticulous manufacturing process. A shaded and charming restaurant greets the visitor with a sophisticated cuisine that brings together the savours of the island. These gourmet temptations are followed by a succession of homemade desserts made with natural sugars sists of an eco-museum, a boutique and a restaurant. Opening hours : 9am - 5pm.Seven days a week except on 24, 25, 26 and 31 December and 1 and 2 January.

There was tons of information but I found it too much. A guide showing us round the workings might have been better but as it was we gave up and left.

A good tour of an old sugar refinery. Well restored, displays are informative. Take at least an hour to stroll through the factory displays. Nice row of shops afterward. Didn’t have a chance to eat at the restaurant, but noted how crowded it was.

The bus doesn't go directly to the entrance. You'd need to take a bus to the Pamplemousses roundabout and walk to it from there. That would take no more than 10 minutes.

It is not a hotel. Regarding taxis it should not cost more Than 2000rs which is the max price to where I live the furthest distance grand gaube. Negotiate.
