We stopped in Edale and started walking along the Penine Way. We didn’t have a map and decided to explore independently. We didn’t know what to expect and the poor signage didn’t help. We ended up walking to Jacobs Ladder, along the fringes of Kinder...More

Jacobs Ladder is a great if strenuous walk to the top of Kinder Scout. We walked up with heavy rucksacks as we intended to camp around the peak of Kinder Scout but the vistas made it all worth while.

There is a pay and display car park on the right just as you turn into the road leading up to Edale village(just before the railway bridge). It gets full quite early at weekends so depends what time you will be arriving
