About
A much-loved gathering place for friends and families since 1959, Batawa Ski Hill offers adventure and discovery all year long. In winter, ski and snowboard enthusiasts enjoy nine runs, including a terrain park, day and night. Come the warm weather, 25 kilometres of trails open up to hikers and mountain bikers. And for young, curious palaeontologists, a 40-foot replica Tyrannosaurus rex is waiting to be discovered in our ever-popular Dino Dig park, the centrepiece of our summer day camps. Come have some fun!

Contravening Human Rights Code.. staff and management need training on by law and human right code of Ontario. If you have a business license in Ontario you must follow the law no one is above the law.
Made me order outside like i was inferior. Class action Law suite coming there was. Staff are rude and un train on customer service what a difference from last year. There just mean.

A great day for family fun

I regularly take my grandkids heer to ski and snowboard. The staff are super friendly and the price is more than reasonable. I don't ski so I either sit in the chalet and watch or I can sit outside around the open firepit.

Small Hill With a Big Heart

Batawa is a great place to learn how to ski, great people. The hill is a great place to get yourself ready to go to the bigger ski resorts. Good staff and food.

Turned my family into skiers
Jan 2019 • Family
Caveat: I've not (yet) been to any other ski hills, so this is based purely on my experience here with no real basis for comparison.

Two years ago we decided to put my daughter into a ski camp that Batawa put on during the Christmas break. She loved it so much we ended up putting her into lessons for the rest of the winter, after which she decided she wanted to join the race team the next year (which isn't directly affiliated with the hill I believe). That lead to season's passes and lessons for the whole family. Next year my son will be joining the race team too.

The instructors are great for all skill levels (my family has run the full gamut over the last 2 years, with all of us now comfortable on all of the hills).
The inside staff are helpful and friendly. They're are rentals if you need them.
Like I mentioned I don't have any other ski hill experience, but I've never been disappointed with the variety or quality of the hills given the weather conditions.
The chalet has just had some really nice renovations. It can get a little cramped at lunch when EVERYONE comes in off the hills, but that's to be expected.

Overall I can't recommend this place enough. They did a great job turning us into a skiing family.

Great place for learning to ski
Jan 2019 • Family
We are out from Australia to visit family nearby and decided to head to Batawa Ski hill for a few days. The instructors at the ski school are all super friendly and engaged well with our kids (and us).

The prices for lift/lessons/gear hire are very reasonable and the hire gear looks like it is mostly new.

You can also buy reasonably priced and tasty food. We will be back next time we are in Canada!

First day out for this season. Conditions were awesome. Not all runs open, but good coverage. Lots of man made snow.
The Chalet has had a makeover and is gorgeous.
Kitchen totally redone and Val is busy making tasty snacks and meals. Liquor license-show casing Prince Eddy’s craft beers

Great little hill
Jan 2018
This is a great little hill.
I took my grandson here on a day where there was very little snow.
To my surprise the hill was open and the skiing was good.
This is the perfect place to learn to ski.
Lots of lessons going on, families, friends, an outdoor fireplace and a good warming facility and basic restaurant.
Rentals available and inexpensive lift tickets.
Just north of the 401 it's easily accessed from the Cobourg to Kingston area.

A Friendly Gem so close for everyone in the Quinte region

Looking for something to occupy our granddaughters (8&10 yrs old) visiting for spring break we enrolled them in the beginner 1 hour lesson with 4-hour lift pass and full equipment. This is a fantastic package! Our only regret was that we hadn't thought of this at the beginning of the week! Peter, their instructor, started with showing them how to put their skis on and off and in no time they were sliding down the Bambi hill, able to turn and stop, pretty pleased with themselves! We never imagined they'd graduate to a larger hill that first day so did not bring our skis; a wonderful instructor was heading up and shepherded the girls on their first chairlift ride, the expressions on their faces as they came down that run were priceless! Thank you Battawa Ski school, I know where we'll be next spring break! They had a grill operating outside in addition to the food service inside. Allow lots of time to get the rental gear, the space is small, lines long, ski adjustments take time so allow 30-60 minutes for this.
