Here in Pushkin Town, just outside the Tsarskoe Selo with its palaces and parks we found this Dacha(Summer Cottage) Museum devoted to great poet Pushkin. That is very nice one-storied wooden building where poet spent the first summer after his wedding in 1831 and about this fact there is a memorial plaque on the front facade.Nicely yellowish coloured building earlier contained at the level of the ground floor, a scullery, dining room, a boudoir of Pushkin's wife, a bedroom and two guest rooms. Upstairs there was a study. Now it has been restored and extended in some measure. There, in this study Pushkin finished some of his most important works and started with the new ones. Worthwhile to visit.…

This was not the highlight of our trip to St. Petersburg but since Pushkin was notable in Russian History I enjoyed visiting. If you are pushed for time, skip this. Takes about 1-2 hours.

We spent a very intersting couple of hours here and, as we are Pushkin fans, found it highly interesting and worthwhile. Wonderful!

Pushkin is a wonderful town full of history, and not a long drive north of St Petersburg. We travelled with a Guide but it's easily able to be done by oneself. We took a couple of hours here.
