I visited the palace as one of the destinations with my family during a day excursion during a river cruise in May. Along with two other families, we booked a private tour guide who picked us up from the cruise terminal and drove us around St. Petersburg for the day. This palace was beautiful and a part of the experience... More

We were on a shore excursion booked with our cruise line. As a bus tour we arrived early in the morning, about 8.30am, because during cruise season the palace is open to pre-booked cruise tours earlier than it is open to the general public. This is a good system. The palace is beautiful and definitely a must-see when visiting St... More

What a stunning place to visit. One has to admit the place was well restored. Appreciated the hours of work done to this place so that people like us can be transported back in history and experienced the splendours of that period. Wort he'd a visit .

Catherine's Palace is an extraordinary site with beautiful well-restored interiors, and a source of important history lessons from the Siege of Leningrad

Another stunning Palace in beautiful park, about 1 hr out of the city centre of St Petersburg. Very well restaurated, beautiful rooms. Snowy winter landscape added to the nostalgy. Unfortunately very crowded.

Very beautiful gardens. Unbelievable grandeur and opulence. It was too much to take in everything. I really enjoyed seeing the Amber Room.

Not to be missed but better to spend a whole day there, prefereably in early autumn, when colours are great. BEst tip, Go by train from Vitevskii railway station, around 180 rubles return ticket, and from Puskin railway station (Tsarskoye Selo), take a Marshrutka which eill leave you just 200 metres from the palace
