Very informative visit where we learned the attributes of amber and were able to handle samples of amber. There are pieces of amber work in process for viewing up close and artisans working on premise. The process is clearly explained and we gained an understanding...More

The Amber Workshop is fascinating! After seeing the Amber Room in Catherine's Palace, Veronica gave us a comprehensive tutorial about the restoration process. Veronica was incredibly patient and friendly addressing all our questions. If you have 30 minutes, it's worth it.

If you get a chance to take this in it is very informative. Seeing the workshop and how they reconstructed the Amber Room and the amount of time it took for them to do this is amazing. 10 years just to put all the plans...More

After you have seen tons and tons of ornate decoration this is a refreshing behind the scenes stop. Nice for children. Tthey show how amber is worked molded and carved. Seems every stop is a reason to sell something.

Thank you so much for your review. However the Amber workshop being a restoration place never sells anything on its grounds. The only way to work with Baltic amber is to carve it, there is, unfortunately, no way to mold it.

Hi, they have some beautiful items but I found them a bit pricey (and I'm from London!). I browsed for a bit but went elsewhere to buy my Amber. Hope that helps :-)
