    Great visit
Well worth a visit. Good connections via coach. Trip up is quite steep. I would recommend coming down via the alternative route. It’s a bit more interesting that the paths on the way up but a bit more craggy underfoot. Waterfalls were spectacular.

Brilliant experience - tickets are cash only!
Visited after recommendation and did not disappoint. A great experience to appreciate the power of water! The walk up to the top is quite steep in places, but the view from the top is amazing and totally worth it. We wore proper walking trainers and you definitely need them, especially for the walk back down. When we arrived, it felt busy but once you start the walk up, it didn’t seem it at all as there’s a good spread of people up the trail. The tickets at the bottom are only available with cash - so word of warning if you don’t have any (like us) as card isn’t an option which is frustrating in current times! Otherwise, a great experience and day out.

    Spectacular
Great place to visit. We visited the day after the terrible storm which flooded a lot of the local area. The weather was still overcast & damp but it was still well worth a visit. The falls were magnificent, plenty of spray so make sure you've waterprrofs with you.. Dogs are allowed. The sound of the water thundering over the edge is amazing. Quite a steep climb, but it's down hill on the return. Great for kids & both my 2 were fascinated at each turn. Plenty of viewing locations & areas to have a break.

    Superb!
We visited in late May 2024 when the falls were looking really full and wow are they worth seeing - really spectacular! The base of the falls is wheelchair accessible (although someone pushing themselves might struggle a bit). Here you get an excellent view of the falls crashing into the run-off river as well as the spray at the base. It took us a few minutes to find the path up the side of the falls, as this is separate to the path to the base. This is definitely not accessible I’m afraid, and you also have to have reasonable fitness to go up as it’s quite steep, especially in places, although well -maintained. There are 11 photo stops up the side of the falls, including the one at the base, and you really can get up close (and get pretty wet!) whilst standing safely behind a wooden fence. The power of the water is incredible to witness and hopefully you’ll see a rainbow (we saw two). I have to admit we gave up halfway, but thoroughly enjoyed what we did do.

    Sprayaway day. Loved it
We were lucky with glorious weather. Arrived early, thank goodness, as the. queue to get in later we’re long.. You can enjoy the falls without too much of a climb, but you will get more out of it if you venture up. We are in our seventies and made it about half way; it is fairly steep. Well worth the visit.

The lower part is accessible and doable for anyone. If you want to climb up, take your most comfy hikinh shoes/boots and equip yourself with water and be ready for quite a steep climb.

A couples of hours is more than sufficient for a visit to this waterfall, unless you a re willing to trek to the top of the falls.

I had visited the valley many times since 1975 and had never ventured to the far end to see the Krimml Falls. Don't wait as long as I did. They are a beautiful day out. the walk up the well-maintained path is somewhat strenuous but easily accomplished if you take your time and go at whatever pace your fitness level will allow. The several overlooks are well-earned rest spots along the way. The restaurants at the top are worthy destinations. We stopped before the last cascade which required a further 40 minute walk but still rate this as a worthy competitor as an alpine experience to the Grossglockner which we saw the prior year. A side trip (drive) up the Gerlos pass road should be part of the excursion as well. Try to go in good weather. Yes it will be crowded with bus tourists but the landscape absorbs them well. An entrance fee is charged to walk up but the result is that the site is well maintained.

Not to be missed incredible view's, if like us you want to fully enjoy your experience by the time you have enjoyed the lower part of the falls and taken lots of photos 45-60 mkns gave flown past. We then set off up the very well maintained path (starts easy but does get tougher) by the time we got to the second eatery we felt like a stop and a bite to eat plus drink. Now we have the last hurdleone fairly flat stretch followed by the steepest part of the climb at this point we had 30mins of time left before needing to turn back for the coach my family had turned back were as I carried on I got as far as view point 9, The 1330M point and turned back not to miss the coach. I caught up with the family and got down in just over the 1hr. So yes you can go up and down in 2,1/2 hrs but not if you want to take in the view's you need 4hrs to enjoy yourself. Entry has increased to €8 . Still the best day of our holiday.
