Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Have to really watch the traffic on this one. The parking area is across the road from the lookout, and on a bend, and a rise in the road, result is traffic roulette. Have to be extremely careful when visiting, but ok for the history buffs

This was one of the most beautiful places we had seen on our scenic route from Cairns to Port Douglas. The lookout is located near the city of Wangetti and has a special parking area dedicated for tourists to go out of their cars and take stunning pictures of the area below. Just beware of the incoming traffic on both sides as this is a very dangerous place to cross, but totally worth it in the end!

Lovely little stop on the way to Port Douglas.
There is a little parking area which I can see would get full quite quickly. As others have mentioned, just be careful crossing the street as it can get busy as well as the bend in the road.
We spent about 15-20 mins here just enjoying the view & watching the hang gliders set off. Fantastic to watch!

Well worth the stop. On the main drag to port douglas, with beautiful views. Watch out crossing the road heading north.

Great mountain view, great beach view and great ocean view. And great place for paragliding/hang-gliding.
Located in Wangetti (between Cairns and Port Douglass), and has parking place and nice launch pad for paragliding/hang-gliding or simply just stand there and enjoy one of the most beautiful ocean views in Queensland.

This lookout is situated on one of the most amazing ocean roads between Cairns and Port Douglas. It's a nice stop off on the way up to the Daintree!

Beautiful view and fantastic drive there. If you aren't planning on driving to Port Douglas from Cairns you should at least drive up to Rex Lookout. The views are amazing but the drive is ever better.
Best to stop in from the left hand side (heading South) if you can manage it.
