I had high expectations for our visit to the zoo. If you have traveled then this zoo won’t really end up on your top 5.
To its credit the staff are friendly, especially as they greet you on arrival and help you to plan your...More
Which means standing in a queue for an hour. Really not a queue, one sentry is left to scan for the next bus then 20 kids descend from the playground and you realise you’re not getting on this bus either.
We loved this trip to the zoo. It’s not your regular zoo either. Lots of wide open spaces, walking tracks and a bus ride that gets you up close to the incredible variety of animals. Not for profit and great volunteers who make the experience...More
This was our first visit to Monarto Zoo but won't be our last. Unfortunately hot for the animals, many resting under the shade.

I’m a big fan of this open range zoo. couple of things that could improve zoo though: a huge reptile house or insect house would be great. The buses should have open windows like werribee zoo as you find it hard to see sometimes. TIP:...More
