Very professional service, beautiful sights, and a few extreme passages. A few days before my arrival in Kyrgyzstan, torrential rains destroyed a few bridges that gave access to the usual routes of the tour. This of course threatened the possibility of the tour pushing through. Timur of Visit Karakol kept in touch with me and updated me regularly on the situation. They were able to find alternative routes to make it happen, which shows dedication and professionalism on their end. I would only comment that on the website, the estimated number of hours of trekking per day were a little underestimated, so it may affect the mental preparation (as you would only know the true trekking time on the day of hiking from the guides). Other than that, very good service from both guides and coordinators, and very beautiful trekking route. Just be sure be fit and physically prepare, as well as get proper clothes and gear (but of course that’s a given. ;) and mentally prepare for some steep passages.

We have been to 50+ countries around the world as a family and we can say with 100% conviction that Visit Karakol run by Timur and his brother Aidar is the BEST touring/ guide services out there! They run a very efficient and globally friendly operation taking care of all types of needs. They use the best equipment, vehicles and local services to take care of all the specific needs to the traveller group.

Aidar was our driver/guide for 2 weeks and we could not have been happier!! We called him the "mountain goat" since he could climb anywhere effortlessly. He was also kind, thoughtful and very accomodating to all our needs.

Their operation at the Green yard hotel is also the best homely hotel ever - great food & wine, comfortable lodging and a very nice local touch! They especially have a great touch with organizing itineraries for photographers and know all the key imperatives - time of day, location is everything, allowing time for the shoot etc.

On almost all such trips, some things can go wrong that are out of their control like a vehicle break down or bad weather and so on. Visit Karakol always has the best response that customer focused and not money focused. They will try to get the tour back on track as soon as possible and in the best way possible. They also go out of their way to understand the group's likes/dislikes and then adjust on the fly to continue to WOW the group and make it a memorable experience!

They are also real explorers who keep on finding new untouched places in Kyrgyzstan so that they can take their future guests. What an amazing group and a phenomenal ambassador for their country!

We used Visit Karakol for logistics support for a self-guided ski-touring expedition to the mountains south of Karakol in March/April 2022. Timur and his team (Ayder, Ibraim, Vali) were fantastic - very communicative, efficient, completely reliable, very interesting and informative about Kyrgyzstan, and generally a pleasure to be around. I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks guys!

Mixed experience. The tour was well designed. Hotels and restaurants were good. The falcon hunter Ruslan and the musicians on the last night were faboulous.
The driver was profesional and seemed to have a lot of offroad experience which was reassuring when driving close to the ridge at high passes. The guide Ibraim was good at showing the beauty of his country.

On the other side, the driver was quite grumpy and hardly managed to say hello or good bye, which created a strange ambience during the meals where he was present. The guide was overly obsessed with his drone taking videos all the time.

The lost city Engilchek is absolutely recomendable. We were not informed about the rustic and bad smelling public toilet in Engilchek. We were told that the homestay in Engilchek had no toilet eventhough it had a shower. Since there was one little closed door next to the shower, I had the impression that the host in Engilchek did not want to share his own toilet with overnight guests. The food in Engilcheck was not as faboulous as advertised but rather simple on our visit. Engilchek can also be visited on a long day trip.

Dear Berthold, Thank you for your honest review and that you have chosen our services! Let me reply to be clear with your opinion: First of all, our driver was doing his job and he doesn't speak English at all. He also speaks very quietly and often you simply could not hear when he greeted you. In addition, you have repeatedly emphasized his professional driving technique on difficult roads. Therefore, I think that you have drawn the wrong conclusions. Secondly, I shot with a drone at a convenient time and moment so as not to interfere with our tour and I asked you for permission when necessary and you approved. I also filmed you to send you later. Your opinion that I’m too obsessed with the drone, I think it’s wrong because I did it when I was free or when we were having lunch and you were resting at that time. About Enilchek. Once again, you have drawn the wrong conclusions. The owner of the house does not have any shower and toilet inside the house. Behind that door was their grocery store. They also go to the toilet outside. Why do you need a shower if you are going there for 1 night, and then to Karakol to a hotel? When we sent the program, you read that Enilchek is a remote place where people live in mountainous conditions. We support a local family who decided to work in tourism and they improve their service every year, but at the same time, the peculiarity of the local and traditional family remains. I imagine what will happen in the Pamirs (Tajikistan) if you go there. Regarding food in Enilchek, you probably decided to add on your own. Although during the meal you nodded your head and said that she cooked deliciously. And I 100% agree with that. In the whole district, the mistress of the house is a really excellent cook. Food bloggers from Canada even filmed about her. You can watch (Luke Martin - Enilchek) I hope it was clear and thank you for visiting our country! Best wishes, Ibraim

Turkey's host Fit Holidays did not like it at all. So we've been using their services for 2 years (when you buy Vacation Package, you don't have a choice). Last year, the Hotel Guide was very deceiving when exchanging currency. In the same year, the route from the airport to our hotel was built in such a way that they toured all possible hotels and not only in all villages near Kemer and in Kemer (apparently unlucky, a friend arrived quickly). Well, that's fine. Working moment. But the driver just wouldn't drive half a block and turn around and give us a ride to the front of our hotel. I had to cross the road with my suitcases. When you read it, say: change. Well, maybe. But there's still sludge. A spoonful of honey in this barrel of tar can only be considered a hotel guide this year. Gulaga, thank you very much for your understanding and unwillingness to extract extra money from tourists

The Team and people working at Visit Karakol are the most friendly and helpful people I met in the tourism industry. From personalised travel experience with one of their guide to leading a Photography Workshop class and including porters. I trust their expertise, and they help you out in all matters. They will make your Kyrgyzstan experience memorable and pleasure you will never forget. I highly recommend visiting this country and with Visit Karakol. They assure you're not leaving the place disappointed, and you can fully enjoy the beautiful countryside.
I am looking forward to being back in Kyrgyzstan.

Visit karakol have been really helpful with planning my trip to Kyrgyzstan.
I got 2 months border zone permits for all the area in 2-3 weeks.
As soon I arrived in Bishkek they meet up with me personally and gave me the document, and answer all my questions.
I will highly recommend using them.

I traveled with a group of girls in Kyrgyzstan, on a trip organized by Visit Karakol. Ibraim, our tour manager, understood very well what we wanted. Everything was excellent. We really liked the trekking tour (Celestial Mountains) and activities after trekking. The team that accompanied us was extraordinary. Vadim is an experienced, communicative guide and was very attentive to our needs. The food cooked by Sasa was very tasty. The places are wonderful, the people warm and friendly. We appreciated very much the accomodation at Jaichy Yurt Camp. We hope come back soon!

I have been fortunate enough to visit the Karakol region of Kyrgyzstan for three years running. Working and using the services of VisitKarakol has been nothing short of amazing. From the moment I arrived, I felt safe and in good hands. Logistics are always smooth and the team work closely together to ensure that guests are given the experience they were hoping for.

I have taken clients to Karakol and they have been blown away by the kindness, openness and landscapes of the region. Timur, Ibraim and the team are a credit to the area. If you haven’t visited Karakol yet then it’s time to go.
