Absolutely fantastic place, this is a must visit place when visiting Armenia. The view from the monastery is awesome, not to mention the one from Tatev wings.

Amazing view, so much history! Must see place in Armenia. Make sure to go right to the funicular instead of taking the rocky road.

The best part of the monastery was the cable car ride. The view along the way was really magnificent. The wall of the monastery complex was under renovation. Churches inside the complex were OK, nothing spectacular.

The drive from Yerevan to Tatev monastery is long but very scenic. Reminded me of my drive from Srinagar to Leh-ladhak in India. The second attraction during the tour is the cableway ‘Wings of tatev’. The monastery itself is average. There are many similar monasteries...More

I liked Noravank Monastery better than Tatev because of the deteriorated state Tatev was in but the hiking around Tatev was beautiful. You can ask the English speaking owner of the Tatev Information Center and Cafe (up the hill from where the tram leaves you...More

This was our third major monastery when we visited Armenia and it is definitely a place that we will remember fondly. At the end of one of the best cable car rides, I've taken, we reached the village of Tatev with its tiny shops, B&Bs...More

The best thing about Tatev Monastery is the view of the valley below it. Take the time to walk through some of the former monk residences to get the best of the view. The ride up on the Wings of Tatev is pretty great as...More
