About
The elegant Fish & Olive gallery was opened in 2006 by Mrs Niki Goulandris. Here, the hand-made ceramics and jewellery of Katharina Bolesch and Alexander Reichardt are displayed to their greatest effect. As well as the exclusive work of these accomplished artists, the gallery also presents paintings, etchings gouaches andaquarelles by national and international artists as well as lithographs by Fish & Olive Creations, lamps and sculptures in Naxian marble and unique olive tree sculptures in metal. FISH & OLIVE ART OF THE AEGEAN The boutique outlet for the Fish & Olive brand is located at the heart of Halki a few steps away from the Fish & Olive Gallery. The boutique stocks the exclusive ceramics of Katharina Bolesch and the jewellery of Alexander Reichardt. Also available are exclusive olive wood products as well as finest quality cotton T-shirts and cookery aprons featuring Fish & Olive design motifs. The boutique is also the exclusive outlet in the Cyclades for the award-winning extra-virgin olive oil produced by the Mercouri family from their biodynamic olive groves in the Peloponnese. INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITIONS INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITIONS The work of Fish & Olive Creations is celebrated worldwide. The latest news is that Fish & Olive will have major exposure this year (2017) at one of the world's great aquarium and exhibition centres, The Deep, in the UK city of Hull, which is this year's UK City of Culture. Alexander has been selected as one of six artists each of whose work will be exhibited for a two-month period throughout the year in a celebration of the world's oceans and marine environment. The year will culminate with Alexander's exhibition in November/December 2017. The works of Fish & Olive were exhibited, in January 2013, at the National Art Center in Tokyo, representing Greece. In 2007, a major exhibition of Katharina's work was staged at the Design Museum (iittala Group, Arabia Museum) in Helsinki. Katharina's ceramics were displayed at the Academy of Athens during the 2004 Olympic Games and have been featured at the United Nations in New York. Alexander's work has close associations with the Goulandris Natural History Museum in Athens and the prestigious Cretaquarium.

If you are on Naxos, you have to visit Halki and Fish & Olive. The amazing story of how Katherina and Alexander contributed to building the local economy over the years is equally fascinating as the beautiful art on display.

Everything about Fish & Olive seems like it was made for Naxos. Such a perfect experience from the art in the gallery to the building and landscape. We purchased a Naxian marble bowl during our visit in September '21, which F&O arranged to be shipped to us in the US. The piece had to go through a local approval process and customs, but F&O kept us up to date on its progress and packed it in a custom plywood box so it made a safe arrival. We got to relive the Naxos experience again when we opened it. Great work and people at this little gallery on a gorgeous Greek island.

In the heart of the Cyclades, there is the island of Naxos.
In the heart of the island of Naxos, there is the town of Halki.
In the heart of Halki, there is the Gallery Fish and Olive, where the hearts of Alex and Katharina are dedicated to making of beauty for the lucky ones to pass by.

In the Summer of 2021, my son and I were two of these lucky ones – the creativity and the perfection of craftsmanship of Alex and Katharina made our own hearts sing and crave for everything created by them. We left with wonderful gifts to ourselves that we enjoy every day, somewhere far, where our own lives are, but we also left with the desire to return and reconnect with the wonderful place and the wonderful people living and creating here, on the island of Naxos – where we love as a second home. Alex and Katharina, and their art at the Gallery Fish and Olive truly contributed to our love for Naxos, and our desire to return, again and again.

THANK YOU, Fish and Olive!

One of the most beautiful galleries and shops I have ever visited. I have bought a number of pieces over the years both for myself and as gifts. Everyone loves them. I recently ordered some pieces via email. They gave incredible service, packaged better than I had ever seen before, and shipped to me. The pieces were stunning!

We have been coming to Naxos for over 12 years, making the trip from the USA twice a year… our Naxos experience would not be complete without several trips to Fish and Olive gallery and workshop in the heart of Halki.
Particularly this year the Gallery felt like a new beginning with the beautiful and harmonius displays of Katarina’s exquisite ceramics and Alex’s new collection of marble art. If yoy like spending time in the serene atmosphere of the gallery with the chance to take some of the beautiful art home with you, Fish and Olive is the place to visit.

Wile vacationing on Naxos, my husband and I came to Chalki specifically to visit Fish & Olive gallery after reading about it. We found each piece of handmade ceramic and jewelry to be unique and beautiful. We also had the pleasure of meeting Katarina and Alex, visit their studios and to learn mort about them and their journey that brought them to this very special village in Naxos. We were fortunate enough to leave with an exquisite vase and 2 prints that will forever remind us of our trip to Chalki and meeting this amazing artists.

The gallery and the shop are two very very special pearls of interest (POI :-) in Chalki.

Katharina and Alexander are re-defining and extending their concept year by year. This year with the 20th anniversary we found extraordinary marble fish pieces as well as wonderful linen art for the first time.

But also the gallery is a place for interesting people and talks. Thank you Katharina and Alexander for this very special POI on Naxos. Looking forward to meet you again next year.

The wonderful Fish&Olive Gallery and (around the corner) it’s daughter Fish&Olive shop have both become even better than before.

The fabulous ceramics, artworks and jewellery have now been supplemented with stunning marble fish sculptures and top quality linen prints for table coverings, cushion covers and scarves. This is world class art to please the eye and/or provide functional use.

Don’t visit Halki (Chalki / Halkio) without stepping inside!

We had booked a trip to The Greek islands including Naxos for the first time and as luck would have it, we saw abs article in the Lonely Planet Magazine featuring the Fish and Olive gallery. We were intrigued so took the bus to the old capital - Halki which was predictably charming. We instantly fell in love with Fish and Olive and amazing talent of these incredible artists. We spoke to Alex and Katharina who showed us around the gallery and artistic process. All their pieces are exquisite. During our conversation they mentioned an upcoming exhibition at The Deep in Hull in the UK in 2018. We went to exhibition and loved seeing their incredible art in a different setting. Some pieces stunningly submerged with the sea creatures! We have since been back to Naxos twice and each time made a visit to Fish Olive and Olive and integral part of our holiday. Today was our third visit and we were given and exceptionally warm welcome by the charming and talented hosts. We have expanded our modest collection of pieces and what we have gives us huge pleasure. The stunning creations are always much commented on by visitors to our home and we warmly tell the story of meeting their creators. We are already looking forward to our next trip!
