A must visit attraction in Bali! See chocolate being made from bean to bar at Pod Chocolate Factory & Cafe. All from locally grown cocoa pods, Pod Chocolate supports local farmers to grow organic while producing incredible chocolate. The cafe is perfect for adults and kids too, and guess what? It's located at Bali Elephant Camp, so you'll see elephants roaming in beautiful surroundings! Lunch, drinks (including hot and iced chocolate) and homemade ice-cream are available in the cafe. The Pod Chocolate Tour starts with an amazing chocolate ‘shot’ welcome drink, after which you’ll be taken through each step of the chocolate making process from the cacao tree to raw cacao, fermenting and roasting of the beans and the final transformation into delicious Pod Chocolate. You’ll taste raw cacao, roasted beans and our handmade Bali chocolates before making your own chocolate elephants to take home. Pod is a short drive north of the Sangeh Monkey Forest, about 30min from Ubud, just over an hour from Sanur/ Seminyak/ Kuta and about 1.5hrs from Jimbaran/ Nusa Dua. Find us on Google Maps (pod chocolate bali) and checkout our website, Facebook and Instagram #podchocolate. You can book with us in advance or use your own car/ driver. The 'telephone number' is our reservations number open until 10pm. The 'fax number' is a direct line to our Factory & Cafe in case you need help with directions! *UPDATE: Pod Chocolate also have a Shop & Cafe on Sunset Road Kuta! There is no chocolate production here but an extensive lunch and DESSERT menu. It's in between Rip Curl and Carrefour on Sunset Road. **Please email from wholesale enquiries (hotels, restaurants) as Pod also produces couverture chocolate in kg block and chocolate drops for patisserie, baking & chocolatiers and a range of products for hotels, amenities & mini-bars!

We were picked up from our Homestay in Sanur and driven to the factory. This was a good move because I'm not sure how else we would have found it! It is off the main track and no signs. It turned out to be very...More

This place treats their animals horrible. They tie the bears paws together, keep their animals in small dark places. The force the bear to take pictures with people. Don't give your money to people who treat animals this way!More

I was very excited to see this chocolate factory, especially as a collector of funky global chocolate. The chocolate itself is great, but the factory tour is not. To be clear, I appreciate the philosophy behind Pod. It brings me joy to see a company...More

We already have a driver for the day, do we have to pre-book tickets for the chocolate tour (if so from where?) or can we just turn up? What would be a good time to go and how long do we need to allow? (we r coming from Kuta). Thanks in advance

I love the idea of seeing and getting up close with a honey bear, but am also sceptical to whether it is ok for the animals? I'd hate to contribute to a business that potentially mistreats animals etc.
