Forget what you know about wine tasting
Aug 2019
Wine tasting can be a mostly transactional experience. Not so at Merebashvili's Marani, where you will be greeted by the family and then served wine and food that you will not soon forget. Seriously, do not have lunch before going here as your hosts are very generous as they continue their family tradition of hospitality. The quality of the wines only adds to a lovely experience.

May I have six stars?!?
Aug 2019 • Friends
It is a small but lovely winery that can offer you a true taste of Georgia. I am not speaking just about wine but food and people. The true added value of our visit has been our host, a young an brilliant guy with excellent English and deep knowledge of his country. If you are looking for a very authentic experience, this is your place.

Go for the bread!
Jul 2018
Well... Tourist trips frequently end up in tourist traps... I was lured into this one based on the idea of a wine tasting plus a visit to a wine museum. The tasting was absolutely disappointing and the museum badly taken care of. Nonetheless, the bread I was offered (baked at the very moment) was outstanding. Marebashvili should, in my opinion, open a bakery and close all the rest! :-)

Thank you for your review! We are truly sorry for your negative experience, but we must say we can never accept that someone considers us as tourist trap and thinks we lure people. If possible, please provide us with the exact date of visit and the name of travel agency which brought you at us. Please also keep in mind that you were not visiting a wine museum or five star wine bar, we are a modest georgian family winery who gives his best to show our hospitality and autentity towards our visitors. If your expectations were exaggerated through your travel agency before your visit and for not even 10$ wine tasting you were charged too much from them, it is not really our fault. We want to appologize once again and hope you won't leave us frustrated again after your next visit.

it is only an one hour drive from Tbilisi and we were so happy to make that stop. the winery owner is a wonderful woman who just lost her husband, but she continues to make this exceptional wines. The testing room is out of this world. it felt like we got back in time. The food which was served with the wine was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was worm and embracing

1 h drive from Tbilisi, will worth the trip. We eat delicious traditional georgian food, got to know the traditional way of wine making in Grorgia and of course we had to try the realy great wine. If you are interested in hearing the hystory of Georgia than you will have a nice conversation. Is a family owned Business. They speak fluent english, germam and georgian. We will definitely come again. Thank you !
